Question about Skechers YouthTween Twinkletoes Pixie Dust Boys Girls
The battery cannot be replaced. The battery and the electronics controlling the blinking lights for the shoes are encased in a solid block of plastic (Plastic like material). Let's just say that you are willing to drill or saw your way through the plastic to get to the battery. (I was) This plastic brick is inside the heel of the shoe and can not be gotten at without stripping the seams for the bottom of the shoe. I assume, that unless you are skilled cobbler, there is no way to replace the battery without destroying the shoes.

With my experience with these shoes you can not replace the batteries. They are designed so that they last long enough to the point where a child either outgrows the actual shoe or ruins them before the light runs out.If your child will only wear them with the twinkle then you will have to get another pair or try opening the shoe and actually looking at the battery. The battery is made into the actual shoe so it may not be easy to get it out if you want to still try and get the battery out. It is most likely in the sole of the shoe.

There is a spot in the heel where the battery is. It is possible to change it with some determination and work.

All made on marketing technical concept and to trow away , if you decide to buy 1 pair of this shoes and will figure it out where the batteries are take a Electrical locator or an neodium magnet to find or simply a little coil where telephone calls can made be eavesdropped to be exactly where the wires and batteries are there are several ways , buy some insoles and hobby around there are many ways on EBay to get batteries for hobby and even to made the shoes chargeable . Where there is a will there is a way.

If you have a Dremel high speed tool with a fine drill bit (under 1/64th") you can drill a hole through the side of the light until it goes out making it unnoticeable to the child.

You can open the bottom if the shoe where the battery is most likely stored. Since the battery needs to be small to fit into a shoe then it probably could only fit in the sole without making the shoe different then most. You can try lifting the insole and seeing if it is located right there. Then to actually get it off you may have to open the bottom of the shoe.
