Question about Gateway FPD1975 19" LCD Monitor

Does not turn on

Sometimes the monitor will not turn on. The light is not on but it feels like the monitor is running. If I squeeze the monitor itself sometimes it will then turn on.

That sounds like sloppy manufacturing, perhaps what we call a 'cold solder joint.' These will often respond to mechanical movement that temporarily causes the bad joint to contact.

These can be kind of tough to find and the condition will probably not go away without being cured.

How do i fix a monitor that sometimes just turn off by itself and turn on after being cut of the elec. power?

There are settings for the sleep (power saving) modes that came with Windows updates.
Some of our monitors also shut off the power indicator light when they go to sleep.
Solution: Check the power saving settings in Windows.

The main menu keeps on popping up and sets itself. It drives me crazy. What do we need to do to fix the issue?

Hi!

Without getting more information on your issue, what I suggest is for you to do a hard monitor reset. To do so unplug the monitor and hold down the monitor's power button for 30 seconds without letting go. Plug the monitor back in and see how it works.

Also, the problem could be with a faulty physical contact on the monitor itself, check each button on the monitor for a depression and release "feel". Sometimes these buttons go bad.

Hope I helped!

The cuff squeezes my arm too much and it hurts. The reading is way too high everytime. I don't know how to adjust it.

do not inflate the cuff too much. if you know your usual blood pressure, just add about 5-10 mmHg when you inflate it so that you won't hurt yourself. for example, if your BP is usually 130/90, squeeze the cuff to 135-140 only. but if you doubt that your BP is way much higher than that by assessing on what you are feeling, just do not squeeze the cuff further than 200.

I have a 2004 montana and the brakes feel like they are not working (pulsating) from time to time. The Van stops OK, the best way to describe it is like squeezing and releasing a water hose as water is...

The "pulsating" you refer to is Normal for a vehicle with ABS (Anti-Lock Brake Systems). It keeps the vehicle braking in a straight line and monitors each wheel with a sensor as to how fast it's turning while braking. The "pulsations" you feel is the ABS Computer turning each individual brake on and off to prevent a lock-up or skid. Perhaps if you road test the vehicle and apply your brakes lightly as in coming up on a stop sign in a residential neighborhood, you'll feel what you consider to be, "normal braking." Pulsations usually come at higher speeds and as to how much pressure you're putting on the brake pedal. You're safer than most now knowing that braking, even in snow, rain or gravel, that your vehicle will stop in a straight line instead of sliding to one side or the other.

If unhappy with ABS Braking, you can always remove the fuse to the ABS computer rendering it inoperative, so you have both choices as to what you'd like to do, right here.

I hope this helps,

How tight should I put it on my wrist and should it give me one squeeze or several before releasing

Up to about 160mm for average blood pressure-up to 210mm for elevated Blood pressure. As the pressure lets down it will squeeze several times as it calibrates itself. Hope this helps.
