I think the simplest way is to use PowerPoint with pre-made template. For examples of such templates look here PowerPoint Templates PPT Templates PowerPoint Themes there are so much variants for any category. You can make a run at Free PowerPoint Templates (Powerpoint) to learn how to use and modify them in a test-drive mode.

It worked beautifully last night with my macbook in a test run of my powerpoint, but this morning I plugged it in for the REAL presentation it didnt work. A bright, clear picture of the Viewsonic Logo...

you might need to turn off your computer .
then connect the data projector
and turn on data projector
then turn on computer
hopefully it detects the data projector is connected and switches windows to duplicate projection
On my P.C. F4 key in windows Switches the display manually to duplicate, alternate screen or pc screen only or projector screen only.
As I am not familiar with Apple this support article below might explain the switching of display outputs available on Apple Mac.

Last few slides of a large PowerPoint lose their pictures laptop

Yes, I think having more memory in the laptop will help with the presentation. Try pulling up one of the last couple of pages and wait to see if the image ever appears. You can also pull up task manager to see what the memory and CPU utilization of your system are when you are trying to pull up those slides.

If you see more than 256MB of RAM in use, I would upgrade. Depending on what version of Windows you are running I would try to go with atleast 512MB RAM. If you are using Vista, then you should really be 1GB or more.

Microsoft powerpoint

Hi there,

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program developed by Microsoft. It is part of the Microsoft Office system, and runs on Microsoft Windows and the Mac OS computer operating systems. The Windows version can run on the Linux operating system, under the Wine compatibility layer.

PowerPoint is widely used by business people, educators, students, and trainers and is among the most prevalent forms of persuasive technology. Beginning with Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft revised the branding to emphasize PowerPoint's place within the office suite, calling it Microsoft Office PowerPoint instead of just Microsoft PowerPoint. The current versions are Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 for Windows and 2008 for Mac.
