I downloaded software, still the touch screen non-responsive. This GPS has never been dropped, spent most of it's life on my trucks dashboard.

    Hello,

Well this obviously seems like a internal problem. I guess the next step is to contact Magellan through the link I game you, and see if there is a way you can send it in to them and most likely they will replace it more that fix it. Here is what I have done for some of my customers here locally that has helped. We called Magellan as well as wrote them a letter and really beefed it up like. Saying how you love there product and have told all your friends and they even bought one based on your referral. And not your embarrassed as, if your friends found out now yours is not working and if the company does not stand behind it, looks bad. Point is write a real professional letter with some bragging of how they great they are, the results have been about a 80% positive results. A couple customers took my advice and got a new one back and a few got there's fixed and returned all for just cost of shipping. Its worth a try, Mike

Did you try when turning it on holding power button down for at least 10 seconds as it is coming on? Even though you see it coming on keep button down for about 8 to 10 seconds. This is a way of rebooting system. Let me know if that works.

    Hello,

Ok if you tried the manual reboot and still stays where it was with no change, then this is a software issue. You would have to have new updates and restored. Here is the link to the actual Magellan site to do this. It tells you how and has support as well. You have to probably register it if you have not already and then do the updates via usb port from computer. Here is the link to copy and paste and put in your browser. http://www.magellangps.com/ Thanks, Mike

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Go back to factory settings

First, is this to reset the configuration of the laptop to default e.g CMOS, if so there are a couple of ways,
First look for a Setup option when first turning it on, e.g press Esc or Del or F10 (search the manufacturers details - e.g HP reset and ideally the model)
Second, if you are talking hard drive, this sometimes can be done through the startup menu, normally there is an option in the startup to select the method of starting. For newer versions of Windows, press F8 a few times as the computer is starting, hopefully it will bring up a menu, if this does not work, try F9 (this is the boot device menu normally).
Other options are to use a bootable media such as a CD DVD or USB or even a Floppy Disk.
Ideally the user manual for the laptop should have instructions on how to restore the computer.
If all else fails find out where the backup battery is located and disconnected it. Sometimes you need to disconnect for a long time or jumper between some connections to switch to reset.

Hello vinny!!

Perform a hard reset to clear all your memory!!!

Step 1. Turn your Nuvi unit off, remove any SD cards from the SD card slot and make sure that the unit is not plugged into any computer.
Step 2. Place a fingertip on the upper left hand corner of the touch screen and keep it there while turning the unit on, a prompt should read " Do you really want to start in maintenance mode?"
Step 3. Select the yes button.
Step 4. Enter your PIN if enabled.
Step 5. Main Maintenance Mode screen should have 4 selections:
System information
View Diagnostics
Clear User data
Clear Waypoints
Step 6. Choose "Clear Waypoints". After some time the unit should reboot.

LCD display is fading

Run self test and LCD test:
Power unit on while holding MENU/ESC-
press down arrow to TEST then right arrow to start.
When self test is complete use down arrow to go to LCD TEST, then right arrow to start. Press MENU/ESC for a while screen the MENU/ESC again for vertical gray bars. Press MENU/ESC 3 times to exit. The LCD unit is pn 000-145-512, $175. I strongly suggest you not attempt replacing the LCD yourself unless you are a qualified Furuno tech.

Subject
AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES P0715, P0716, P0717, P0720, P0721 & P0722

An improperly functioning input speed sensor or output speed sensor may result in the following conditions:
^ "Check Engine" light on
^ Harsh P-R or P-D engagement shock
^ Transaxle in 3rd gear fail-safe
^ Diagnostic trouble codes 1. Using a GDS, check for DTCs in both the "Engine" and "Automatic Transaxle" menus. Record the DTC and description.
2. From the GDS, select:
^ Vehicle
^ "Auto Transaxle" menu
^ "Current Data"
^ "Input speed sensor" and "output speed sensor". Drive the vehicle and monitor the input and output speed sensors. If the sensors show:
^ Continuous output, the wiring currently has no open/shorts. Go to Step 6.
^ No output, go to Step 3
3. Check the wiring harness visually for an open circuit or short circuit to ground. Check for a pinched harness at the PCM/TCM attachment bolts.
4. Disconnect the connectors at the input and output speed sensor and PCM/TCM. Check for bent pins or pins not fully inserted into the connector.
5. If a harness open/short is found, repair or replace the ECM control harness between the PCM/TCM and transaxle and go to Step 8. If not, go to Step 6.

I have a hyundai sonata 2007 limited My car has both the esc off and the check engine lights on check engine is always on when the esc off light turns on the car runs very slow, it doesnt accelerate even...

These codes indicate your accelerator position sensor has malfunctioned. The computer has gone into limp mode, which allows you to drive to safety without damaging the engine. The computer is unable to determine how far you are depressing the accelerator and doesn't want to over-rev the engine. You need a new sensor.

ESC light. What does it mean

I'm sorry to say that Michael Richardson is incorrect. ESC actually stands for Electronic Stability Control. It monitors the wheels for slippage, and will reduce power (or even apply braking, according to Kia) to a particular wheel if it detects that it has lost traction. For example, say you're driving in the rain and your front passenger wheel hits a puddle and starts to hydroplane. ESC will cut the power to that wheel so that it rolls freely until you get out of the puddle. As it's doing that your ESC light flashes. If you are driving on ice and no wheels have good traction it may stay lit and not allow you to accelerate rapidly because it can control the throttle as well. You can turn off ESC with a button on your dashboard which will result in a yellow ESC Off indicator.

If your ESC Off light is on all the time regardless of the dashboard button or weather conditions, you probably have a problem with your ESC system, which could be as simple as a faulty brake light switch. Kia should be able to diagnose it quickly.

I want to restore the factory settings on my fujitsu siemens amilo Li2727 laptop. i cant find any options to allow me to do this. please help.

You may restore it to its original settings by opening the configuration menu. Usually, this can be accessed by booting your computer while pressing F2 or delete, depending on your computer's model. It will bring you to the configurations menu. Look for the "restore to default setting", highlight using your arrow keys and press Enter, press Esc and go to the exit menu using the tab or arrow key, select save settings and exit. Reboot your computer.
