Paper jammed and then MP810 lost all power. Cables and power supply good. Is there an internal fuse which could have blown? Thanks.

I'm certain there is a fuse, probably on the power supply board, to protect against the possibility of fire. Unfortunately, these are not normally user replaceable as they are often 'micro' fuses in a cylindrical case ~ 1/4" in diameter. Another type looks a lot like a low-power resistor with leads at either end. Both of these are soldered onto the board and normally aren't visibly blown but have to be checked with a meter for continuity.

Model Yamaha ME-50 no power

John
With AC power off.
Use a meter (on Ohms scale) to check internal fuse for blown (open) fuse.
If you feel qualified & safe with AC Power On.
Check input to internal power supply on AC Scale (Caution when AC is on) for volts in.
Use meter on internal Power Supply for "probably" DC volts leaving internal Power Supply electronics to power the rest of the electronic circuits.
Switch mode power supplies can break down. They stop doing their high frequency switching so they don't convert AC to DC.
If this P/Sup is a separate box or circuit board, inside the unit, then it can have a part number & be replaced.
Good Luck

My mp160 printer/scanner has no power when on switch is operated. Does this printer have an internal fuse and if so how do i get at it? The power cord tests OK.

the fuse is located at the power supply board which you will need to dis assemble the unit using with a phillip screw driver.unscrew to remove the cover and to access the power supply board . if the fuse is blown you need to check other component if defective since the fuse is blown. like shorted regulator, bridge diode and transistor.if you think you can not do the job just send it to the canon service center to fix the problem.

My paper shreder light comes on and cut off frequently it is a paper mate PM-1550CD it is not working what do I do?

Hi, this is usually caused by either a jammed up motor, blown motor or a faulty power supply, either external or internal or both. If one is handy, these may be disassembled and the problem sorted out, either by un-jammimg the motor if jammed or replacement if burnt out, the PSU needs to be checked for volts out, If the Voltage of the external supply, if used, is OK, then suspect the internal PSU, the external unit can be replaced with any suitable same Voltage Current rating a power supply is a power supply as long as polarity is right you are all good.
However most often these types of units are beyond economic repair? Still there is never any harm if one doesn't wish to DIY to get a free "Quote" for repair from a suitable repair shop and go from there?

My radio ground n power wire touched i looked in the fuse box only one twenty amp was blown so i replaced it n it wasn't the radio fuse where can i find that at??

If you are sure that all fuses are good on the box you would have to inspect the radio itself. There may be a fuse internally in the radio. The problem may be with the power supply circuit of the radio. This is the first circuit after the power cables found internally. Check for swelling or leaking fuses or burnt parts. If there is no voltage coming out of the circuit then it may be bad.

Pixma 810: Suddenly the printer is dead. Despite power cable is connected with Pixma I can no longer turn the printer on. Is there a fuse anywhere? What is the solution? Best regards Peter Widmer

Hi

First of all please make sure that all the cables from/to the printer are connected properly. Now please use different power socket to make sure that the printer is getting power. If so then we can reset the printer. To reset the printer unplug it from/to the power socket and mains and let it sit without power for more then 10 minutes and then replace all the cables and print a test page. If still the issue is not resolved then you'll need to replace the printer cable. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Dell 160n will not turn on. The above "fix" makes NO SENSE! Has NOTHING TO DO with a paper jam. And the FIRST instruction says to "turn off printer". How can one turn it off when it...

Remove all cables except for the power cord.

If the on-off switch does not turn it on, there may be an internal fuse that has blown.
I looked at a picture of the back of this printer but didn't see an easily accessible fuse.
(Maybe you can find it)

This assumes, of course, that you are actually sending power to the printer - are you sure
the AC cable is good and there is power at the printer?

Of course, you can always call Dell tech support or go to support.dell.com

Hi cleitner . It has most likely blown a mains power fuse. You will need to FIRST DISCONNECT FROM THE POWER. Then remove the lid and check internal fuses. Best done with an ohms meter to be sure that you don't miss any. Some fuses can look ok but be faulty. Replace any blown fuses with one of exactly the same type. If you are not sure what type of fuse you need, feel free to get back to me here. Good Luck, thanks for using FixYa

Pixma mp810 paper jam?

Go inside the unit, the jam is most likely to be a very small torn shred of paper, near the carriage roller or similar. Us ea torch if the room is not bright enough, this helps fing it.
