Question about Dishwashers

Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 4 Dishwasher model 665160344000 normal wash light keeps flashing. I have done all of the push this button and that button combinations I can find on the internet. I unplugged and repluged the 14 pin ribbon with power and without power --no joy. Looks like I need a new part - which part?

None of those fixes work (and I don't have an air dry button). Is the control board just the green circuit board or is the control board the same thing as the "control panel" part number 8558946?

Can I leve this open until I get the part in the mail and try to install it?

  • chrisimgrund Jun 02, 2011

The part came in the mail today. It's different from the original one. Do you have some directions for installing?

  • chrisimgrund Jun 02, 2011

I have 3 sets of leftover connections (yellow wires, brown wires and a black plug with pink, blue and black wires). What do I do with those? I don't see any place on the new board to plug them in. I will try to send you a picture.

The new circuit board is not the same as the old one and there is no place to plug in all 5 sets of wires.

New circuit board with ribbon and 2 of 5 sets of wires plugged in - there is no place for me to plug in the three sets of wires pictured below.

Did you see the circuit board pictures I sent you yesterday?

  • chrisimgrund Jun 04, 2011

I wrote down the numbers for the old and new circuit boards, so you can look them up and tell me how to attach the wires from the old one to the new one. The video you sent me shows how to attach the wires to identical circuit boards - which I can certainly do. How do I attach the wires to circuit boards that are not identical?

Did you get my comment from about 4 days ago? I am thinking I need to exchange the circuit board for one that matches my original one. I think I need to do it soon. I wad hoping to get your comments soon.

I had the same flashing light problem first the normal wash flashing light then the others. I tried shuting of the breakers but nothing. I tried resetting the panel by pushing normal wash and heated dry simultaneously and nothing. So I took the six screws holding the front panel out and unplugged the ribbon type wires and plug and unplugged it several times to help make a better contact and I was able to get it to work right away. This may not work for all but I worked for me. It is very easy to do and it's worth a try if you're having the same problem. It took me less then 10 minutes.

Hi

Open the door. Within 3 seconds press the following sequence --Try pressing normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry, normal wash, heated dry three times within 6 seconds and then press cancel to reset the dishwasher. If that doesn't help then try pressing Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry, Saini Rinse, Heated Dry or Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry, Saini Rinse, Air Dry 3 times in 6 seconds and then the Cancel Button. Close the door and press Cancel. Blinking lights would stop and should be able to use your dishwasher normally. After doing all this if the lights still blink then the control board should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Somehow I missed your previous email....thanks for reminding me again though.....this is the parts list for your 66516034400 dishwasher which shows part no 8564546 as the new part, if you want you can get it exchanged with the old one as that one is still available.

I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard washing machine Model No. 6651601. I am trying to find out how to reset my dishwaser as it keeps flashing the "clean" light but will not run.

No there is no reset button you could disconnect the power by turning off circuit break for at least 5 minutes turn it back on and see if that clears it

Kenmore dishwasher ultra was quiet guard 3 model 56516012403 control panel will not activate red lights blinking on normal wash and cancel drain. did the hold the heat dry button then the normal wash...

that would be model # 66516012403 correct??
you may have inadvertently set the lock on function..
check this out from your manual...

Lock On
Use the Lock On to prevent unintended use of the dishwasher
between cycles. You can also use the lock feature to prevent
unintended cycle or option changes during a cycle.
When LOCK ON is lit, all buttons are disabled.
NOTE: The dishwasher door can be opened while the controls
are locked. However, the lock must be turned off and the Start/
Resume button pressed to resume the cycle.
To turn on the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. LOCK ON glows.
If you press any pad while your dishwasher is locked, the light
flashes 3 times.
NOTE: If the Heated Dry option is selected, the light will
temporarily turn off until Lock On glows.
To turn off the Lock
Press and hold HEATED DRY for 4 seconds. The light turns off.

hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn

Loud Buzzing Sound from Dishwasher

have you ever seen green led "Clean" light flashing? before or about the same time the buzzing sound started? and if so that would indicate that the control senses a fault in the temperature rise during the heating cycle and that the electronic control could be reset by initiating a service diagnostic cycle.(which is what you were trying to do) pls reread your manual there are times during that sequence that some buttons have to be pushed at the same time and within a certain amount of time..possible that your machine also has a bad timer which would give you a buzzing noise..if thats the case I would recommend replacing the cpu or control board..or the machin all together..The Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard name is sears but whirpool has the contract to produce all "kenmore products.hope that helps.

Clean light keeps blinking and I can't start a new cycle

That is a comon problem with that model. It is not sensing a temperature change in the water.

Push i believe it is heated dry and sani rinse going back and fourth between the two to clear the code and see if you can get it to complete a cycle. If it doesnt call sears and schedule service there is a service flash repair that should not cost you anything to repair the unit.

Kenmore ultra wash quiet guard 3 dishwasher problem

call sears, 1-800-4MY-HOME. They have a trouble-shooting department that will get rid of this problem. It is caused by water temperature being wrong at the start of the cycle.... blah, blah, blah. The representative will tell you to push a certain set of buttons in a certain order and that unlocks the dishwasher.

Sorry I don't know the sequence

QuietGuard3: Clean light flashing 7 times? Press Heated Dry, press Normal Wash, then press Heated Dry again and press Normal Wash again (that's 4 button-presses) and that should fix it.
