Check the batterys, there may be some dirt in the prev button and its not contacting correctly. also clean the tv receaver and the remote. if that has no effect or you just tried brand new batterys, you may have to take the remote apart and inspect the buttons, there may be some dirt in there or maybe the button is not correctly in place, not touching properly.

In the Harmony software, click 'Downloads' and click 'Firmware.' That will update the remote to the latest version of the firmware for your remote.

Hi. System 1 error means that something on the motherboard of the remote has become de-attached. I would call Logitech if I were you.

System error 1 is a memory failure. You'll have to take the remote back to the tore for an exchange.

I have a logitech Harmony 890 remote. The battery

To check to see if your device is controlled by a RF (radio frequency) or IR (infrared) remote:

Power the device on manually

Cover the front of the original remote that came with the device with your hand

Press any button on the remote that you know the device would respond to normally

If the device responds even when your hand is covering the front of the remote, the remote is RF and the device cannot be controlled by the Harmony remote

Another test that can be performed is using digital camera:

Using any digital camera, even one on a cell phone, camcorder or webcam, look through the screen of the camera at the front of the remote

Press a few buttons on the original remote

If you see flashes of light as illustrated, the remote is IR and the Harmony can control it. If the remote does not flash, this original remote is an RF remote and the device cannot be controlled by the Harmony remote

For comparison, try the same steps with a remote control that you know is working correctly, such as the original remote for the TV, or DVD player. You should see the IR emitters flashing when performing this test.

My Harmony 550 remote works fine, except that the lcd display is messed up. It appears to only show every other line on the display, making it impossible to read.

update the firmware
1. click "Downloads" at the top of the software, 2. select "Firmware" 3. Update the remote
if that doent fix it then it's a hardware issue.

Logitech harmony xbox 360 remote not communicating with 360.

There is a setting that may need to be changed within the Xbox 360, to allow it to be controlled by a Harmony Advanced Universal Remote.

To configure your Xbox 360 to respond to a Harmony Remote

  1. Using your original Xbox 360 controller, go into the Xbox Dashboard on the Xbox menu
  2. Select "Console Settings"
  3. Select "Remote Control"
  4. If "All channels" is selected, select "Xbox 360 Media Remote”. If "Xbox 360 Media Remote" is selected, then select "All channels"
Your Harmony remote should now control your Xbox 360

Harmony 659 erroe measage

Call Harmony support. I have the same thing with Harmony 670 and they said it is a hardware error. No fix that I have been able to find. If it is under warranty they will replace it. If not, I don't know what it would cost to repair.
