Question about Radio Shack Pro-84 Handheld Scanner
NAAAH, don't reset it. Check the programing cable jack. It may have a bad solder joint or a bent element.

Your scanner should only enter the WIRED mode if you have a clone cable plugged into it. The only way to clear the problem is to RESET the scanner. Unfortunately this procedure will also erase all the frequencies that are programmed into the scanner. RESET is covered on page 54 of the scanner manual -- if you don't have yours you can download and print a copy here:
