The problem is probably due to a fuel flow problem or clogged air filter, but could be caused by the insulation of the spark plug breaking down when it gets hot. Try changing the plug and if this doesn't work have a look at these tips:

    Check also that there is a good seal between the carburettor and the inlet manifold on the engine.

2002 Arctic Cat 375 starts but won't continue to run?

Try running it with the choke partially on. Most Arctic Cats are jetted for higher altitude operation from the factory and need a larger main jet installed. Partially closing the choke will make it operate until you can get the carb rebuilt with a larger jet.

Rebuilt carb. now have to have choke partially on in order for it to run what might be the problem?

could be the float level is too low or there is still a blockage ( corrosion ) in the idle circuit of the carby
discuss the problem with a service center for your make of motor as some kits for carby rebuilds are missing several small "o" rings vital for correct operation

My 1998 suzuki vs800 intuder bogs down when you take off and is burning rich and i need to know how to adjust the fule at the carbs

I would be much more inclined to check the choke, it sounds like it's stuck on or at least partially.
Any bike will do this if the choke valves are closed or partially closed even.
You might be surprised that the solution is as simple as turning off the choke (opening the valve) is the solution.
And yes, this would very much so cause the bike to run rich as well.
Good for starting up, not good for running!

Jiffy ice auger starts with fuel primer and soon quits starving for fuel ???

To insure fuel starvation try running engine with partial choke.
If it will run with a little choke then it is a fuel problem

What's the best choke setting for starting a cold generator

Full choke to start, open choke partially immediately the engine starts to where the motor runs smoothly, continue opening as soon as you can while keeping the engine running smoothly. Be sure to open fully before leaving the unit, running it with the choke partially on can cause a rich fuel condition which tends to wash the oil off the cylinder walls and it also dilutes the oil with gasoline.

I just rebuilt my F-150 1 barrel Carter carb (1985)once started runs great under all power ranges.Problem? Hard to start.

should adjust the butterfly to about 3/8" opening at 50 degrees farenheit when engine is cold. Usually about 1 mark to the lean side on the choke spring housing. If unsure set the choke to the center mark than richen up one mark at a time until the engine starts and idles up when cold after properly setting choke by fully depressing and releasing the accelerator before cranking. If it doesn't idle up enough turn up the fast idle screw 1/2 turn at a time. Another common problem with the YFA is the choke heat riser tube rusting off at the manifold and the choke not unloading when the engine warms. Install a new riser tube after using a drill bit the same diameter as the tube to drill out the remainder of the old tube in manifold before inserting the new tube and attaching to choke housing.

Possibly the choke is getting stuck internally, Even thoug the leaver may be in the closed (normal) position, it may be sticking internally. Try removing the choke and cleaning the passage with some carb cleaner, then replace the lever. The bike could run with a partially cloged choke but would be tough to start when warm due to too much fuel. Another thing to check, when it is hard to start, just after kicking it over a few times, remove the spark plug and see if it is wet with gas. My guess is that's it's soaked. Good luck.

My 02 yamaha vstar 650 is very hard to start on cold mornings. ihave tried all kinds of things. i have to idle it up than idle it down than it will start. the chock does no good .

Sounds like your carb jets may be partially plugged, common if they are stored incorrectly, The choke circuits on these carburetors work on manifold vacuum and if you throttle the bike while trying to start it you will lose the choke affect. if they are partially plugged the only good way to fix it is to pull the carburetors and clean them. I would advise checking out is a great source of information for the yamaha star line of motorcycles.
