Question about Kitchen Ranges

We have a Kenmore fridge about 7 year old with an icemaker. How can we tell if the icemaker is on? Does the bar have to be all the way down or all the way up?

I moved my GE TFX277PFSB (new in 1994) side by side to my enclosed sun porch 2 years ago when i got a new fridge for the kitchen. Today, I decided to run a water line to it to allow it to make ice again. ...

Hello,
Make sure the arm on the icemaker is in the down position,if it is up and locked in place the icemaker is off. If it is down and the icemaker is turned on,each time it got cold enough the to cycle the icemaker(usually about a hour) the icemaker started and for 7 years power was sent to the water inlet valve to fill the icemaker and the icemaker side of the water valve is burnt up. The water valve has 1 inlet teh house water supply attaches to and 2 outlets 1 for icemaker and 1 for door dispenser

The icemaker won't make ice , the fridge is about 19 years old.

Put some water in the ice maker. If it makes a batch replace the water valve. If ice is already in there then replace the ice maker. Service manual and more HERE

How to take out old ice actuator on Kenmore fridge

The easiest thing to do is remove the icemaker first. Ujnplug your fridge first, though. Take a 1/4" nut driver and remove the screw at the botton of the icemaker. Then loosen the 2 screws on the topside of the ice maker. You'll be able to see the back screw, but the front one is kinda hidden....you'll have to use your fingers for eyes on that one! Lift up on the icemaker and it should come free from the screws. Disconnect the electrical plug, being sure to release the little latch on the side of the molex plug.

Now you can work on the icemaker....there is a white plastic cover over the end of the icemaker, pull that off and you can start to see the guts of the icemaker. There are 3 phillips head screws holding the motor module on, and the rest of it can be torn down from there. Good luck!

Kenmore elite water dispenser works but the icemaker doesn't

It is either your water valve in the back of the fridge, the module on the icemaker.

Ice maker in my Kitchen Aid side by side is not getting water

there is only 2 things that would cause this. either the icemaker is bad and not calling for water or the fill valve that allows the water to come into the icemaker is bad. how old is the fridge ? also check the ice maker and make sure it has not accidently been cut off inside. if this is the old type theres a bar that raises and lowers. make sure the bar is down. in the up position this would turn your icemaker off

Icemaker dont work after power outage

Make sure the ice bail wire is not lifted. If it is, the ice maker will not make ice.

The water valve may have failed to. It's in the bottom back of the refrigerator, and the water line normally connects near where the valve is.

Let me know what you find.

Ice maker

Old message but will reply anyhow-

All machines with icemakers have an inline filter.
If you have a water supply not completely devoid of particulates, the filter may be clogged.

I can't tell you where it is located in your fridge but if you still have the user guide, it will tell you.
The recommended interval on ours is 2 X yearly.
Yeah, well . . . we have a whole house filter so I don't worry about it.

check inside the ice maker are the forks pointing up or down if they are down them the module on front of ice maker is broken it needs to be repl, but you said is 8 years ol d so i would repl the whole ice maker since the mold might be peeling off due to age they only last like 4 years or so

Freezer not cool enough and the Icemaker not working

Defrost the fridge freezer for 24 hrs and before turning on check for any water leaks. Turn back on if the cabinet pulls down to temp in 12hrs you probably have a defrost heater problem if it doesnt pull down at all it could be the fan or sensor fault. Either way you would be best to contact a suitable refrig engineer. Hope this helps. fishersofcambridge
