Question about Computers & Internet

My hp Pavilion notebook computer's cursur is stuck in the middle of the screen and it won't budge. I have tried unplugging and removing the battery and turning back on and still nothing. The arrow keys do nothing. If I hit Ctrl -Alt -Delete it just tells "Task Manager has been disabled by Administrator". (I am the owner of the computer)

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
or
During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer
Also you might try
Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10 key,ie: Alt+F10, it will open the recovery console ,select full factory restore and follow on screen instruction. (Note:this will erase all datas on the computer)

Hp pavilion laptop won't come out of standby

See if this works for you.
Unplug the power, remove the battery. Wait 2-3 minutes. Plug the power in without the batter. Turn on the system.

I do this for fun & feedback not $$$

I have an HP Pavilion dv 7 notebook pc. not sure why... in the middle of my screen a bar shows up with the word "volume" and a sound bar indicating that volume is twitching between 35% and 50%...

no photos , no joy
why post this lacking that,
remove all USB devices first. see if that cures it.
is the device manager showing errors on the onboard, sound chip>
my be bad keys for sound controls, (switches)
the hot keys are function keys on mine, see them>?
on mine if the hot keys strip is bad or the software to it drivers
bad to sound or the HP key strip (see the vol, updown buttons?) has bad driver there, it will mess up.
why not get a tech to fix this?

The volume slider on your laptop is failing or having problems, I have had this issue my self it is usually caused by dirt and grime, so you may want to give it a good cleaning or residual heat from the processor. I'm posting the link to an hp support thread below, with several other fixes not mentioned here. I hope I could Help.

HP dv9000 Screen Hinge Plague - And HP won't make good on it!

This doesnt really seem like a question, the only way you will get this repaired for free is if your warranty still covers that product. If not, ask how much the repair will cost or buy the parts, find a technical manual and do it yourself if you have had enough experiance with computers.
