Could you please let me know the name or model of the Sound Card you've installed on it? I hope you are aware that this motherboard has no onboard Sound Card on it. Thanks.

I assume you bought this motherboard secondhand, otherwise it would have come with a drivers disk and manual which would be probably very helpful right now, chances are you could have a defective board, its not that uncommon. if you try everything else you can i would suggest taking it into a local computer store and getting them to give it a once over

When i installed realtek audio driver the notification icon doesn't appear on window 7 tab and the driver is of window 7.So, please tell me how this problem solved

This is Asus's site for downloads, they don't really show a Windows 7 download but, in most cases, the Vista is the closest and mat or may not work:
I will also provide Realteks site, however, it's not working foe me right now, you may want to try later;
If you haven't done so already, click on "start", then "control panel". In your list(icons), find and right click on "device manager", open and click on continue. Click on the box,on left, next to "sound, audio and game controllers". You should see your device(s). Right click on each, one at a time, and in the list, you should see "disable", if you see "enable" click on that. Right click on the device, then on properties, you sj=hould see "this device is working properly". Click on the "driver" tab, then on update driver. Click on
automatically search for update...". Exit when finished. You should have a speaker icon in your taskbar, lower right of screen. Right click on that and then click on "open sound mixer", and adjust your sound. You may have to experiment with eneabling and disabling your different devices, if you have more than one.

Hello, no sound on motherboard Asus P4P800; probably no good driver for AC97 on this motherboard. Can you give me a good hint. The best would be *.iso file of Asus CD for this motherboard. Thank you....

I would strongly recommend you to re-install the sound driver. If you don't have or if you don't know the correct driver, you can download it from HERE. The selected drivers are for windows xp, you may need to reselect the Operating System (O.S) from the O.S: box on the page. If the installed O.S on your computer is Windows xp, click the "Audio" link and download from the download links (will be displayed once you click the "Audio"). Download and install, it should work if there's no other issue with your sound card or etc..

Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

P5vd2 not sound on win 7

Hello, I am the technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra.Welcome to Fixya, Rifaguant.

Try the Vista drivers, Click here to download the Audio driver.
Select your Operating system as Windows Vista 32bit.

Click Audio heading and then click global to download, you may have to try both drivers if the first one doesn't work.

If they both don't work then:
ASUS has not created Windows 7 drivers for the Audio chipset on this mainboard. You will need to purchase a basic sound card to fit the White long PCI slot compatible with Windows 7.

Try eBay or your local computer store.

Take care!

I recently installed Windows7 and the sound card does not work properly. The motherboard is a Asus P5GD2, I need drivers please

first you find the sound chip on *********** board. On your audio chip have a number like cmi98xx.Then find your audio chip number and find the drivers for win.7.If can't find the drivers for win.7 search the drivers for win.xp.Then download the drivers and extract it by using win rar. After that go to device manager and update you audio drivers by using extracted files.
