Hi,
The CD/DVD drive or optical drive is not reading any discs due to either hardware malfunction or operating system registry inputs. To correct the issue, follow the below steps.
- Reload BIOS (Basic Input Output System) default settings by pressing F10, Del.. (depends on what key is designed to access the BIOS setup)
- Use a bootable disc (like Operating system disc). Try to boot to the disc, if successful, your optical drive is surely working fine. If not, you need to reinsert it or replace it.
- If you are able to boot to disc successfully, it means that the Operating System needs to be reinstalled or upper and lower filter of the cd/dvd drive in the registry needs to be deleted.
Here are some links that you can check to resolve the issue without reinstalling the Operating System.

Hope this helps.
