Thank you for using FixYa

I was born the year the computer was invented in 1946, so we can help. You just need a little more experience with computers. That is the computers way of telling you, that you do not have the proper video tool to open that video. It may mean that your computer is not capable of viewing it or it could be that your security is set too high. It might mean that you need to allow cookies to be set, that would do it also. Go to the page that the video is located on and see what type of video it is. You might try right clicking on the red cross box and see what It shows you on the screen. We need to know what Operating system you are using and what video plug-ins you have loaded in your browser. We need to know what browser you are using also. Once we get all that information we will know more about what needs to be done. You need to give us a much information as possible in order to find a solution.

I hope this was useful and please comment if this was helpful to you.

Red Cross (Fake) Antivirus Removal

This Tip is a copy and edit of a couple of existing guides.
Screenshot Of Red Cross (Fake)
1. Print out these instructions as we may need to close every window that is open later in the fix.
2. It is possible that the infection you are trying to remove will not allow you to download files on the infected computer. If this is the case, then you will need to download the files requested in this guide on another computer and then transfer them to the infected computer. You can transfer the files via a CD/DVD, external drive, or USB flash drive.
(Note: Either of these operations can be performed in Safe Mode with networking. You will NEED networking to update Malwarebytes, otherwise your definitions will be obsolete)
3. Before we can do anything we must first end the processes that belong to Red Cross Antivirus so that it does not interfere with the cleaning procedure. To do this, download the following file to your desktop.
4. Once it is downloaded, double-click on the in order to automatically attempt to stop any processes associated with Red Cross Antivirus and other Rogue programs. Please be patient while the program looks for various malware programs and ends them. When it has finished, the black window will automatically close and you can continue with the next step. If you get a message that rkill is an infection, do not be concerned. This message is just a fake warning given by Red Cross Antivirus when it terminates programs that may potentially remove it. If you run into these infections warnings that close Rkill, a trick is to leave the warning on the screen and then run Rkill again. By not closing the warning, this typically will allow you to bypass the malware trying to protect itself so that rkill can terminate Red Cross Antivirus . So, please try running Rkill until the malware is no longer running. You will then be able to proceed with the rest of the guide.
Do not reboot your computer after running rkill as the malware programs will start again.
5. Now you should download malwarebytes-anti-malware, from the following location and save it to your desktop Download Link (Download page will open in a new window)
6. Once downloaded, close all programs and Windows on your computer, including this one.
7. Double-click on the icon on your desktop named mbam-setup.exe. This will start the installation of MBAM onto your computer.
8. When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the installation process. Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure you leave both the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware checked. Then click on the Finish button. If MalwareBytes' prompts you to reboot, please do not do so.
9. MBAM will now automatically start and you will see a message stating that you should update the program before performing a scan. As MBAM will automatically update itself after the install, you can press the OK button to close that box and you will now be at the main program as shown below. MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Screen
10. On the Scanner tab, make sure the the Perform full scan option is selected and then click on the Scan button to start scanning your computer for Red Cross Antivirus related files.
11. MBAM will now start scanning your computer for malware. This process can take quite a while, so we suggest you go and do something else and periodically check on the status of the scan.
When MBAM is scanning it will look like the image below.
12. When the scan is finished a message box will appear as shown in the image below.
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Scan Finished Screen
You should click on the OK button to close the message box and continue with the Red Cross Antivirus removal process. 13. You will now be back at the main Scanner screen. At this point you should click on the Show Results button.
14. A screen displaying all the malware that the program found will be shown as seen in the image below.
Please note that the infections found may be different than what is shown in the image. You should now click on the Remove Selected button to remove all the listed malware. MBAM will now delete all of the files and registry keys and add them to the programs quarantine.
(Remove those files in Quarantine BEFORE you reboot! The files Malwarebytes can't remove at that point will still be displayed OR will be associated files that aren't displayed on the screen)
When removing the files, MBAM may require a reboot in order to remove some of them. If it displays a message stating that it needs to reboot, please allow it to do so. Once your computer has rebooted, and you are logged in, please continue with the rest of the steps.
15. When MBAM has finished removing the malware, it will open the scan log and display it in Notepad. Review the log as desired, and then close the Notepad window.
16. You can now exit the MBAM program.
Added: Though at this point your existing infection may be removed, there exists the chance that Cache files in internet explorer and other Temp files on your computer may still contain unassembled parts of this infection. To be sure these temporary files are deleted use a cache cleaner such as Advanced System Care (Click to download). This program will not only clean out your cache, but will also fix your registry and defrag it. Your computer should now be free of the Red Cross Antivirus program. If your current anti-virus solution let this infection through, you may want to consider purchasing the PRO version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to protect against these types of threats in the future. If you are still having problems with your computer after completing these instructions, then please follow the steps outlined in the topic linked below: Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help. Wireless does not appear in VAIO smart network. I have had this mini vaio working very well for 3 years. A week ago the wireless inet stopped working and doesn't even appear in the smart network box,...

You didn't post the Sony Model number or the OS you are using? Have you tried , unplugging, remove battery, plug in, reboot? Open the Control Panel , select Device Manager, scroll down to Network Adapters, open, do you see the Wireless Adapter? Is it enabled? Try to Update Driver. Have you done ALL your Windows and Sony updates? If the Network Adapter has a red X in the Tray Notification Area, it's there but not connected. Click on the Icon and see what Available Networks appear. If your wireless is working, Choose your SSID, enter Security Key and connect.

The pointer freezes

Less than 5 years old is hardly brand new.

Have you tried booting in safe mode and see if it freezes. If so that means you probably have an infection (virus). Maybe your pointer has been hijacked.

Sometimes there is a sequence of keys you can hit that toggles the pointer between locked and unlocked. Check to see if you have a key that shows a finger on a square touchpad. If so you can unlock it by pressing and holding the Alt key or the FN key, then press the key with the finger on the touchpad.

Run MalwareBytes and see if it finds any infections.

Go to and in the search box type:"Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download andinstall malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When thesite opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do notclick the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the GuiInterface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version orDecline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run aQUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be inred. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad textdocument will open up showing you the results. You can close the textdocument and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTEDRESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When itfinishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot yourmachine

My young daughter has twice now on separate occasions tried to access the Jessie J 'Price Tag' video clip by Googling 'Jessie J Price Tag' and then clicking on the 1st search result (which was the one with...

I can't give you a solution to why this should happen, but a helpful hint ( I know you can't be leaning over her should ALL the time), hover the mouse over the results' link, and in your web page, at the bottom left, you will see the page you will be directed to. This DOESN'T open the page if you leave the mouse over it, it just gives you advanced warning of the domain name. If you see something suspicious, then move your mouse away, and try the next suggested answer.

I tried your combination of 'Jessie J Price Tag' and found no "adult" site listed here. The video result I got started with a stuffed teddy bear (a cross on one eye, sitting in a pinky background). AND that was with Google search options set to "do not filter my results"...
