Question about Dual XDM-6820 CD Player

1 Answer

I had an issue with my cars system getting messed up by a boost. We finally got the power back to the player (red indicator light is back on and flashing) however the faceplate does not seem to be connecting with this properly. The CD's can be inserted and ejected but that's it. power won't come on.. nothing. :( I miss my radio. any ideas? I did notice one of the (sorry don't know technical names of things) gold chip connectors on the main unit (top right hand one) was a little crooked but still attached. the computer chip or connector on the face plate is perfectly fine. I wouldn't think this would present a problem since if would still be touching and therefore receiving but maybe that it. I pressed the reset button as well and that did not work either. so frustrating to be so close to listening to music yet so far away! and feedback will be greatly appreciated. Crystal

Hmmm ok I will have to ask about this when I get home. my father was the one fiddling with it the other day and got the power back to it. I remember that red light always blinked when the face plate was removed so when after boosting the car and that stopped I can only assume it was fuse related at that time. Seems to me boosting the battery could definately blow fuses. So since the wires and everything worked fine before the boost and my father most likely replaced a fuse somewhere I am thinking it probably does have something to do with the security code. However I bought the car with the system already installed and do not have a manual. the car was not purchased from a dealer either.

you said the secure code is unique to each device so how might I be able to find this out and fix it?

    Thanks again.

Oh boy... so apparently my father had NOT checked the right fuses afterall and my radio is fine and back up and running. All this time the fuse was not even there. I have been radioless for too long for no reason. :) glad it's working again and I didn't have to get it serviced.

Thank you for your suggestions. Much appreciated because it made my dad double check what he that he had already checked. that would have been embarrassing if I took it somewhere. :)

    Thank you

Red light blinkign means "security" led and this device could be asking about secure unlock code.

Probably there is a fuse blown, you can use a tester light to check the two voltages, yellow (constant voltage, means all the time,ok) and red (this voltage has to be switched wiht the ignition key) wires.

If you dont have any fuse blows and voltage is right in the wires, then your problem is the security code, this code generally is located in the user guide; if you dont have this manual, need to visit your delaer and ask about this. Keep in mind that secure code is unique for each device, so, anyone could tell you from Internet.

Hope this helps.

Two choice to find this secure code:
    - contact your radio manufacture or local distributor to ask about this;
    - with the brand, model and serial number, and other additional details that you think convenience, emailed at:

Other possibilitie, internal fuse protection is blow; sometimes this occures when some voltage diference is sense for this device. Occurs fe months ago in one of my cd-players. Need to take off and open the radio to check or visit radio techincian.

    Keep us updated.

My buddy was messing with my boost ajuster and now my turbo glows red hot y

I guess he has it spinning at higher rate for more boost to intake. Unless you are an experienced tuner you should never touch such things. You need guages to measure boost an opening a few screws, or messing with numbers on computer cant destory parts. To much exhaust more boost an you will cook it shortly. Some turbos do glow at times but sounds like he should put it back.

What can you advice me to do? i have a UPS SURTD5000XLI, indicating a red Led light, but when i remove it from the AC power source, the Red Led also remove & when i flog it again to the AC Source it...

Is red light on for overload or for battery?
If on overload, try reducing the load on the UPS. If red light on overload persists buy a new UPS (overload fault hard to repair).

Red light on battery - replace the batteries.

Red light on boost or buck, may mean that the nominal voltage of ups and the limits need to be changed/corrected.

Step motor for turbo control system

The code p1251 relates to the actuator motor and circuit associated with the boost control, i.e. the motor that changes the angle of the valves to divert exhaust pressure to and from the turbine of the turbocharger and consequently control the boost pressure. And the fact the code indicates a circuit problem is pointing towards a component, module or wiring issue..

The red over indicator light is on and it shows that it is recording but you can not hear cd when you try to play it

You want to keep the level below the red OVER indication. Did you 'finalize' the disc? You have to 'finalize' a disc BEFORE you remove it from your CD recorder. Let me know if that's the case. Good luck.

Background noise and many times not working, red flash

the back ground noise could be the result of the power supply going faulty, the red flashing light would indicate this, until the upgraded power supply board has been installed, then that should reolve the issue. contact point of sale or b and w service and they should repair as they are aware of this problem.

My ps3 wont power up

try powering the system up by HOLDING the on;off button , it will reset all your audio and video settings . then plug the system using the AV cables (default) .

else, you should take it to an assastance centre for hardware issues checking . can be a problem with your RAM or GPU units that makes the system unable to startup it's firmware .

Hey 2hitz,

According to information provided by the manufacturer, when the power supply light is red this can typically mean that the XBox 360's external power supply (AC adaptor) has encountered a problem and may need to be repaired or replaced. Most problems encountered are typically limited to an issue where the system has overheated or there is too much voltage/electrical current for the power supply to handle.

I'd first suggest checking to see if the AC adaptor is properly connected to your XBox 360 or is warm to the touch. If the adaptor is hot, you may wish to unplug the adaptor for several hours to cool before reconnecting it to your XBox 360. Even if it is fairly cool, you may still want to see if disconnecting and reconnecting the adaptor resolves the issue. If the power light changes from red to an orange hue once you do, this can mean that the power supply may not have been securely attached and the unit is now in standby mode.

Next, if you have access to a second power adaptor, you may want to see if switching adaptors resolves the issue instead. If the XBox 360 goes into standby mode with a different adaptor plugged in but not the original, then the original adaptor may be defective and be in need of replacement.

Please keep in mind however, that if the lights around the power indicator light are also flashing red this may be a sign of an entirely different hardware problem. If you are seeing any of the lights in the outer ring light up, you may want to take note of which ones (and how many) are lighting up at any given time. Typically one flashing red light in the outer ring may indicate a hard drive problem, two red lights may indicate the XBox 360 itself has overheated, three red lights mean that the unit requires service/repairs, and four red lights mean that your audio-video (AV) cable isn't securely connected.

If you're still not quite sure how to proceed, you can always visit Microsoft's knowledge base website for more information and suggestions by using the link I've provided below:

Hope this helps you out.
