Question about Hunter Pump Start Relay Psr-22 Pump Controller

Open Question

Installing new hunter ps22 pump control but can not get power to pump. Checked control voltage coming from the irrigation controller and is at 25v. Checed in comming power from to the ps22 and it checks. ps22 does engage when getting signal from irrigation controler but I get no power on the out side. If I connect the in coming power lead to the out going (eliminating the PS220 the pump runs fine. Assumed that the PS22 was bad but a second one responded in the same way.

The problem is not your remote on the fan. It is the light kit. We have the same problem and our electrician diagnosed it as the light kit. This problem started just out of warranty, of course, and we are now purchasing a new light kit to fix the problem.

The pumps are not getting any power

I am not sure what an investor is attached to a pump but I can tell you that you need to check the voltage coming from the control to each pump to verify you have the correct voltage going into the pump motors.
If there is no voltage then you need to look at the control where the voltage is coming from to see why you do not have power coming out of going to the motors.
If you do have power going to the motors then you need to verify that the motors are good i.e. take them to a motor shop and have them checked out.

So the mv and c are supplying power to the transformer/relay and out of it, but the pump won't start until the relay is forced.
I'm thinking the relay contacts are oxidized, and need to be cleaned. When they have oxidation, current goes up, and voltage might appear ok. If any start capacitors are in the circuit, they can be faulty, breaking down under a load, while reading ok. I haven't heard of any caps in these systems, but just in case.
The following blog may help you- it's about different controller situations:
Hunter's website has some things to check concerning the controller:
Looks like it could be microprocessor lockup. It's quite a process, but here's what they say is the fix:
Good luck, hope this helps, and thanks for using FixYa.

Why my PSR-22 pump start relay does not start the pump even the automatic sprinkler controller is at manual run mode?

It could be that the PSR-22 isn't "relaying" the correct amount of power to your pump. If the PSR-22 is making noise (a hum, or buzzing sound), it could be failing.

Try checking the voltage on the PSR-22 to be sure that it's supplying your pump correctly. Be careful - there's a lot of voltage in there, and getting a shock could be fatal.

The furnace wont turn on even though it says it is

not all digital thermostats are compatible with the manufacturers circuit control boards in the furnace. Hunter has had this problem several years ago. Other than that you may have miss wired the unit. usually the furnace is used as backup heat (during defrost) or emergency heat if your heat pump konks out. Are you switching to emergency heat for a furnace call?
