Check the solenoid for the cold water. you can reverse the lines to see if cold water comes out on hot setting. solenoid is where the water lines connect to the machine.

SOURCE: no cold water only hot water will filling

The water inlet valve solenoid is probably faulty. You can check it using a multimeter or ohm meter for continuity to see if it is faulty. The solenoid is most likely faulty on the cold water side. Here is a picture of the inlet valve solenoid assembly. Hope this helped and best wishes.

SOURCE: COLD WATER IS RUNNING SLOW INTO WASHER

Based on your description, the selenoid is bad.
The same device feeds both cold and hot water - so locate your machine model number and year.. and look up the replacement incoming water selenoid part number. You will need to purchase it and replace it.

If your machine is under warranty, call their Customer Service line and report the water flow/noise problem.

Please let us know your findings...

The internal valve on the cold inlet is most likely sticking.
You will need to replace the water valve assembly.

This video will show how to remove the cabinet to access the water valve.

Some washing machines allow hot water to enter only during certain cycles. Others intermittently allow hot and cold to enter, to temper the temperature of the water. Consult your owner's manual if you are unsure about whether the machine is acting abnormally. If you're sure the machine isn't working the way it used to--or should--try these tests: Is the hot water turned on? If not, turn it on. Is the washer getting cold water but no hot water? If so, check to see if the control panel settings are correct. Is there hot water coming through the proper hose? If not, check to see if the screen inside the water-inlet valve is clean. (The water-inlet valve is the device on the washing machine that the fill hoses are attached to.) If it's clean, you probably have a defective water-inlet valve. If so, completely replace it.

The washing machine won't fill with water at all. we have cleaned the pump valve and we have checked the water lines. are there any other things that could be causing this problem?

You will want to check and make sure the door handle/lock is switching on. the front load unit will not fill with water with the door open. Check that the latch is engaging.

Cold water enters machine very slowly, turn tap on faster the less water comes in.

turn off water to machine, remove cold water hose and clean mesh screen on water valve and on the hose itself if present. If this didn't help - replace water valve.

When on cold/cold very little cold water is coming in to washer. I checked the hose and cleaned the screen. If I do not turn off the hot water I get nothing but hot water no cold.

First you should remove the hoses and clean the screens in the ends of the hose, some hoses have screens in both ends. While the hoses are removed look inside the water inlet valve there should be a screen in there also remove and clean the screen out. Some screens will not be removable so you will need to clean in place or remove the water inlet valve. If all is clear you will need to check the solenoids on the water inlet valve for power. If the solenoid has power when put in a fill cycle and no water eneters your washer you will need to replace the water inlet valve. Most water inlet valves must be replaced as a unit, so if one solenoid fails you replace the hole valve assembly. These are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at http://appliancehelponline.com/topwaterinletvideo.html that will walk you thru the testing procedure. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. If you need help disassembling there are also videos of disassembling most styles. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models will be available. All parts come with installation instructions.

My kenmore 27 wide laundry center will not fill on rinse cycle! the water runs, but does not fill??????

If water is entering the tub on rinse and running out, the drain line is too low or siphoning the water out.
If it is not entering the machine the cold water inlet valve has trash in the screen and must be cleaned.
A test is choose COLD FILL and turn the machine on for regular wash. If no water enters, turn off the water supply and remove the hoses from the machine. Look inside the cold fill connection and clean the screen.

No cold water will enter machine but not water

Turn off the cold water.
Remove the cold water hose from the washer. Clean out the filter screen in the water valve. Re-attach the hose and turn the water back on. If you get no cold water replace the water valve.

Can only get hot water in my maytag stacker...no cold...checked water supply and hoses...they are all working fine. Is it the unit the hoses hook up to that needs replacing?

First, take cold water supply hose off and make sure there are no blocked screened washers in either end. Now for the most likely cause, check the screen in the inside of the cold water inlet, right where the hose screws onto the machine. The screen can generally be taken out and cleaned. If it is clear, that just about only leaves a bad water inlet valve. (yes, the part the hoses screw onto)
