Sony sa-wm500 subwoofer is crackling

If the sound is a scratchy type of sound then the voice coil has been damaged and is rubbing up against the internal magnet producing the scratching and low sound since the cone is barely moving;.

Home subwoofer no sound

always 1 speaker per amp output!!! and between red and black only. You can send any signal into a subwoofer. Hi frequencies will be quiet but it's safe. switch a normal speaker for the sub and listen, you should hear a muffled sound. Look for the sub output on the amp... do you need to switch on the sub manually somewhere?

How do i fix an output problem?

is the cone stuck form lack of use by any chance ,try connecting to a car battery and touching a wire to complete the circuit quickly and it should go blurp if its working and this often frees the cone up if its a bit corroded

My sub is making a rattling sound. I dont know what it is, and I dont play my movies that loud. I also have the sub power only about 40%, I dont know whats wrong with it

First pick it up and shake it, to see if something is loose inside it!
Sometimes the speaker cone can become damaged. If you can get at it, gently press it so it moves up & down. Don't press it from the side, just apply force all over. It should just move without scraping. If it doesn't the cone is damaged.

Object inside my subwoofer ( kicker L715)

ive had that happen to me with 2 12in infinity subs . (my first system) haha  i dont knwo what it is but it sounds like a piece of solder weld has broken off in there where the voice coils conect to the cone..  its a manufacture defect  nothin you can really do about it without taking it totally apart ... then the hard part is putn it back together .. specially if it wasnt suposed to ba taken apart lol

Rattle Problem w/ subwoofer

See the rear cone, spider and voice coil junction at rest and when cone is manually lifted outward/forward.Then you can easily tell if the spider has separated, as there is little pressure needed to move the cone manually, in and out of the gap. Compare that pressure to your good sub. If there is a notable difference in physical pressure to move either cone, you can rest assured that the spider is not moving or providing resistance to cone manipulation. This is a sure sign of spider/coil joint failure and can easily be sees as you conduct these tests. If that is what you see then repair it or change with new one

Cerwin Vega V-10S Subwoofer doesn´t sounds good

dear "rai17"

This, to me, is most likely the voice coil inside the driver rubbung against the yolk plate, or possibly the spyder slapping the metal plate underneath it, or the amp-(if it has one?) getting tired. this can occur from poor build quality, or playing the subwoofer too loud. depending on how much it cost you, you may want to get it repaired(voice coil re-alignment or something or new amp). But the way it seems, it is probably the driver itself. subwoofers get looser as they break in. This one may have been over-broken....sorry

I hope this helped clarify what is happening!
