I think the ground wire is no good, check the Black Wire.

Best way is to rewire everything, if you are not sure what to do, remove each wire and reconnect each one, use wire connectors instead of electrical tape if you could.

Use the fader and balance controls to select different speaker combinations to see if any speakers are working

Make sure that the wires have not been pulled off of any speaker.

There may be a 'speaker' connector on the back of the radio that is not correctly connected.

Make sure that the speaker wiring is correctly connected. Please see the instruction manual that would have come with the Pioneer deck for correct wiring instructions first. Check that first and let me know..

Radio sound low and squeeky, works good in summertime

The volume control on your radio is called a potentiometer, which may be going bad. It works better when its warm because materials expand as they warm up and make tighter contact with each other.

It is also a possible a bad wiring connection exists. Poor contact will cause static, poor audio quality and intermittent output.

Your radio will have plug type connector(s) Your speakers will most likely each have two wires with single female spade connectors of different widths (keeps the polarity correct) the wire with the stripe (of whatever color) will be connected to the negative (-) speaker terminal.

So you need to check all the connections, one is making poor contact.
If both speakers (assuming you have two) sound good or bad... then start with the plug connectors for the radio and any independent black ground wire coming out of the radio.

If one speakers sounds okay check the connections on the other one. You check the connections by carefully pulling the speaker wire off of the speaker and then carefully pushing it back on making sure it feels tight and secure.

PS: If you pull the fuse for the radio, the radio will have no power and will not work. The radio coming on proves the fuse is good.

PSS: Your owners manual should provide lots of information on your sound system components.

Landrover freelander 04 - one door speaker stopped working a while ago. I've been living quite happily just using the other one. Now the other door speaker has gone too - no noise at all. the only sound is...

You either have blown circuits in the radio itself, or the wire bundle output to the speakers are broken/shorted out or the connector has come loose on the radio/speakers. The last usually doesn't happen however. If the speakers were blown...you would get something. Take your vehicle to a reputable house and have them check it out.

I have a 96 escort with no radio ;the wires are there, but i want to install a new radio.i don't know what wires hook up to the new radio

Hi, if the connector is still there, it is easiest to purchase a ford wiring adapter. The adapter will match the factory wires to an aftermarket stereo. If the connector is gone, see your factory wire colors below. Please let me know if you need additional help or have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

How do you replace the radio and insert a cd player?

Hi, pull the trim plate off the dash around the radio. The trim may go all around the instrument panel. With the trim plate off, you can see the factory radio screws. Take the screws out, pull the radio out and remove the connectors, including the antenna wire.
You will need an adapter to fit the aftermarket radio snugly into the dash. They sell these wherever they sell aftermarket radios. I recommend you also buy the cable adapter. If you don't, at least buy the antenna adapter of you will no be able to plug your antenna into the new CD player.
Follow the instructions on putting the adapter together--it's made for a lot of different cars. You need it to screw into your dash where the screws came out.
If you buy the wire adapter, follow the directions that come with it. I recommend you solder the wires, but you can use those crimp connectors if you don't have soldering equipment.
If you don't buy the adapter cable, use the factory wire colors below to match up the aftermarket wires to your factory wires. Wrap any solder connections with electrical tape and carefully plug everything back in, including the antenna adapter and antenna cable. With the adapter plate attached to the new player, carefully push the wiring aside to get the player into the slot and then screw it in. check the system for proper operation and then replace the trim panel.
Enjoy your CDs, and let me know if you have any questions.

My laptop display becomes unusable when moving the display. There is only one angle that the display will work

This indicates that the wire bundle running through the hinge has been compromised. Some wire has frayed apart and is making intermittent contact with itself or the lid movement is causing the wire bundle to pull on one of the video connectors.

In order to fix this problem, you will need to remove the notebook's front hinge cover & check the bundle of wires connecting the motherboard to the LCD screen. If this bundle of wires is damaged, then you will have to get it replaced.

Wiring problem for DEH 1430R

I have to ask if you are willing to spend a little time with the 30 wire bundle? First of all you have to have a 12volt dc tester and a 9v dc battery. Take the tester and check each wire of the 30 wire bundle until you find one with 12 volt. Mark it and set aside. If you get more than one with voltage that is OK just mark them w/tape and make sure they get capped or taped as not to short anywhere. Now that you know which wires are HOT, lets move onto the others. If possible find out how many speakers are in the vehicle. Take the 9v battery and find small gauge wires in the bundle of 30 remove insullation on the wires about 1/2 inch touch one wire to one post on the battery and another to the other post (Just a tap, do not hold on too long) you will hear a speaker pop. Find out which it is front left, back right etc. and mark the pairs that make it pop. If possible to pull the speaker you can identify the wire colors from the speaker to see if they are in fact in the 30 wire bundle. After you locate your power and speakers the 15 wire harness should be easy to attach to the proper connections. Hope this gets you going.
