According to the error lookup table for the machine (That you can view if you go to: http://www.scribd.com/doc/8559708/Frigidaire-Affinity-Front-Load-Washer-Error-Codes )

E43 is "Board communication problem" - Solution - Replace the control board.

I THINK that this machine only has one main board. I say this because machines with 2 main boards have a nasty habit of one board dying and taking the other out at the same time.

You can get a new board from the manufacturer, or quite possibly from somewhere like ebay if you're lucky. The problem with a DIY fix of this magnitude is that the cost of the board is high and if the diagnisis is whrog, or more extensive than just the board, you may find yourself with a board you don't need, but cant return because it has been fitted (and the scratches where the connectors go are a dead giveaway for this). Worse still, a board that you blew up, because it wasn't JUST the board that was faulty..... And a machine that still doesn't work and now needs more parts. DIY with main boards can be a high risk strategy and I've been bitten a few times when I've thought I was being clever and doing a bargain DIY fix.

So, ask yourself the question, do you call out someone who is qualified and let them take the risk, do you do it yourself, or do you throw the machine away. I would suggest step 1 is to call the guy in the local paper, get an estimate and make a decision based on that.

My washer won't start, it keeps flashing ERR and then the wash-time, and then LOC. My roommate says to fix it before, he held down three buttons, but can't remember which ones. Any idea?

Try the following two buttons: press Options and Select together for 10 seconds (or until the LOC disappears). The pair of buttons held for 10 seconds also sets this control lock.

To find out the error code, turn the Program knob to the start position, Spin Only. Press Start/Pause to start the cycle. Press Cancel to stop the cycle and turn off the LEDs. Press Cancel again and within 5 seconds press and hold the Options and Start/Pause buttons until the LEDs start chasing. Then release the buttons. Turn the Program knob seven clicks clockwise from the Start position. The control will signal the last error code. To clear the error, press and hold Options and Start/Pause for 3 seconds. Then either unplug the washer for 5-8 seconds before plugging it back in. Alternatively, press and hold Options and Start/Pause together for a few seconds until the Wash LEDs appear.

http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/frigidaire-electrolux/12950-frigidaire-atf6000es1-wont-drain.html has a link to the service manual for the listed washer (the link is half-way down the page).

I hope this helps.

Washer won't start

LOC means it thinks the control panel is locked.
This gives the ERR indication when you push the buttons.
To unlock it you need to hold down the Options and Select buttons together until it reacts.

The LOC code merely means the control responded and locked the door. You'll find a tech sheet under the top panel of the machine to help guide you thru the diagnostic process, which is fairly involved.

I know this may seem silly but - On the top right back corner of your washer hit it with medium force with your fist, this helps.

Front load washer won't start

Telescope, Im assuming your model starts with 417.44092, Kenmore made by Frigidaire. You have the best model with the digital display. Try unplugging the machine for 5 minutes to see if you can reset the board. If that doesn't work put it into a test mode by doing the following: Turn the dial to drain spin, press cancel to turn off the led's. Within 5 seconds press and hold the options and pause/cancel together for 5 seconds. All the led's should light. Now by turning the dial 1 click at a time clockwise you are going to test the following. 1rst click- hot water solenoid 2. bleach solenoid 3. Bleach and wash water solenoid 4. door lock solenoid activates 5. door lock solenoid de-activates. 6. the washer will fill and tumbe. 7. washer will fill and spin 8. drain pump and door lock will activate and washer will go in high spin. 9 clicks from the start, the last error code will be displayed. To clear the error, press and hold the options and cancel buttons for 3 seconds. To exit the test, just unplug the washer for 5 seconds. Sometimes these electronic boards just get a glitch and have to be reset. Make sure that the dispensor door is shut all the way. Try these things first...Catriver..post back.
