Hi

It might be the your computer does not receive enough power supply. Either you battery charger is not working or you have problem with power jack connector issue.

First try connect your laptop with charger only (without battery) and check if battery lights up. If no, try other battery charger.

If stil the same, it might be the power jack connector that is faulty and needs replacement. I recommend you to service it to a computer technician to replace this parts.

Please rate and make a comment if you find this solution very helpful and might help others as well. Post more comments if you need more help.

    Hi

Reasons might be defective CPU fan (when over heats it shut downs automatically), defective RAM Memory ( If it shut downs and blue screen appears) and defective Hard Disk Drive (Due to bad sector cause by viruses locking up some sectors of your hard drive). Hard drive failure due to bad sector is the most causes of computer shut down and needs to be replaced.

As you said, still it shutdowns itself even when reinstalling the operating system. I am quite sure the problem is the defective hard disk due to bad sectors. I recommend you replace it with new hard disk and sure your computer works fine.

Just check the Battery diagnostics if you have the software installed...If it is there then it will be in Start - Help & Support - Troubleshotting Tools - Battery Check.......If it shows the battery needs to be replaced contact Packard Bell...Since you told me that the A/C Adapter is not functioning and after you wiggled the lead it started functioning then if the battery test passes you will have to ask for a new A/C Adapter...

EasyNote R4250 - Unable to boot, even in safe mode...

This is quite a stumbling block, if you have corrupt boot files, the only other way to fix this without the recovery cd is if you know how to reprogram the system32 boot log, Lord knows I don't. You could contact Packard Bell and see if they still have a recovery cd for this pc there email is supportqb@packarbell.com GL hope this helps.

Packard Bell Easynote M5255 - Will not boot up

option f2, go into bios setup and see if the hard drive is listed or detected. Auto detect hard drive save and exit. System will reboot if the same error occurs then the hard drive master boot record is probably corrupt or the hard drive has totally failed.
