Question about Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate for PC

1 Answer

Hey everyone during my installation of win 7 ultimate 64x my install froze on expanding (at 0%) after a few hours I assumed it had failed so I restarted the computer. Of course I get the bootmgr is missing error during boot up. I no longer can get it to boot into anything not the hdd or the installation disc. I checked the bios and cd is set up to boot first. I can get into the repair disc if I unplug the hdd (im only using one). But cant do anything once i replug it back in once the disk boots. Ive tried the repair and the other command prompts to no avail. Im down to trying to put the .iso on a external hdd and try that way but according to a lot of forums this doesn't fix the problem. So my final thing to try is to wipe the hdd completely (new build so nothing on there to lose) and try again. Will this solve the problem? If not any other suggestions?

Hi hermand25
I was about to suggest you to format the hdd when i fell on your last sentence . I think you don't have any other choice , but you can't format it from your pc . Place it in an external box or inside another healthy computer as secundary. When done , you will be able to install Windows on the hdd placed back in your computer . I suppose your machine supports 64-systems ?
Best regards ,
fanaudi .

Solution I wiped the HDD then tried again. Found out that the original disc I was using was corrupt, burned a new image on a different dvd and worked great

Pvm890m mother board vga driver not working in windos 7,solution please.

I am assuming you are using the internal vga adapter installed on the motherboard, and not an expansion card in the AGP slot. If you are using an AGP card, the motherboard VGA driver will do no good; you must load the driver for the add-in card.

There are a few things to check. First in the CMOS Setup, on the "PCI/Plug & Play Setup" tab, ensure that the Primary Graphics Adapter is set to PCI. That selects the onboard video adapter.

Then, reboot the system into SAFE MODE. Use the F8 key, to get to safe mode during the boot process.

You need to go to the Device Manager window. To do this, click START, right click on COMPUTER, click on PROPERTIES, then select DEVICE MANAGER. Expand the DISPLAY ADAPTER listing. On the listed adapter, right click and select PROPERTIES, Select the DRIVER tab. Look to see if there is a ROLLBACK DRIVER option. If so select this and let the system go back to the previous driver.

This is an old motherboard, made before WIN XP. Motherboard manufacturers will normally only supply new drivers for two iterations of windows. So there is not any chance of getting a driver from the manufacturer for anything much later than VISTA. However, WIN 7 has default drivers that will operate most legacy VGA adapters. The rollback you did (if you did) probably took you back to the driver that WIN 7 placed there when it was installed. ou may have to live with it.

Blue screen of death

Remove all USB attached devices like drives. You may need to roll back system with System Restore. Under Safe Mode (press F8 during boot and choose Safe Mode). Win 7 - Start > Search type System Restore. XP - Is Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Restore. Now choose a date prior to problem. You may have to try a few dates. Uninstall last program(s) that was installed, again in safe mode. To eliminate possible bad RAM. Unplug PC, open case, and remove all RAM. Test one DIMM at time, one slot at a time. Re-install Windows. Clean install works best, but all data will be lost. Lastly you may have other hardware problems. If it does another blue screen after reloading windows, especially with a clean install.

Lenovo u160 completely stalled after installing windows

First of all you should have loaded the 64bit version of Windows 7 on that machine. Second, slow response could be several different problems. The most likely culprit is that hard drive is failing and needs to be replaced.

Hi , i cant install canon pc1230d in windows 7 computer. Thanks

There is no driver for your unit under Windows 7
Workaround :
If you are under Win 7 Ultimate or Pro or Enterprise , you can download and install a free virtual version of Win XP from : http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
This is the ultimate solution to ANY compatibility problem. You just use XP mode to do operate your device then go back to Win 7 in one clic where your modern processing software is.
Under other versions of Windows 7 , you need to have the XP install disc to install a virtual version with a third party software such as WmWare Player from

I have an problem with getting my ADSI Frames to work with Win 7 x64 in Hyena 8.1!

Hey this is an easy one, search Google for Active Directory Remote Management software.

This is a free .msi package that installs the ADSI hooks so Hyena can hit your active directory server.

Hope this helps.
