SOURCE: No resistance when I pedal the stationary exercise bike

Hi,

I looked into this thinking is must be a simple belt, or tention wheel, but these devices are much more complex than the average exercise machine. See the Recumbent selection here.

It appears that the tentioning device is a magnetic brake.
This would require that it be plugged into a power source and programmed to provide a desired tention.
I've never used one of these so I can't say what kind of programming options there are or where they are found.

Hope this helps.
Richard.

SOURCE: battery missing for exercise bike

I have a Schwinn airdyne (model AD-3) that uses a button type battery in the count-down timer, which is above the work load indicator or the 'speedometer'. According to the manual I was given with the bike, it utilizes a 1 1/2 volt watch - type battery (LR44, A 76 or equivalent).

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: schwinn 201 recumbent bike makes clicking noise

Check the tightness of the crank bearings, also the crank fastening nuts (on axle) If its the gears you may have to turn the screws on the rear derailleur to adjust the tracking. The same as the front. Your question is kind of vague so its hard to pinpoint the clicking noise. Could even be a stone in the tire??lol

I've had a Schwinn 270 recumbent bike for 4 years. The resistance is completely gone. Suggestions?

I suggest you check the troubleshooting guide in the manual, as there are several causes for the resistance not changing. http://download.nautilus.com/supportdocs/AM_OM/Schwinn/SCH.270-MY17.AM-OM-W.EN.pdf I would suspect that no resistance at all might have to do with a failure of the servo motor, which appears to control resistance through interaction with magnets on the wheel.

Secondly, you can try contacting Schwinn Fitness: Customer Service

If you still can't figure out the problem you may need in-person help. Find a place that sells Schwinn exercise bikes or see if someone at a local gym that has recumbents can help you. The bike is apparently made by Nautilus.

Does the schwinn recumbent 270 bike have a battery? It has an AC adaptor. The resistance will not increase when i press the higher resistance button.

It does not have a battery. Your resistance motor is most likely faulty. The only thing is, with schwinn, you will most likely have to replace the resistance motor, the console, and the wiring. All of this is very hard to find and will probably be more of a hassle than it's worth.

Where can I find the owners manual for the Schwinn 130 model stationary bike?

Schwinn has the manuals for most of their bikes here: http://www.schwinnfitness.com/schwinn_fitness_us/customerservice/manualsen.jsp . There are three Model 130 upright bikes listed. Do you know what year your exercise bike was built?

The Owner's manual for the 2007 model is currently here: http://download.nautilus.com/supportdocs/OM/Schwinn/SCH_130-230_OM_RevB_web.pdf . The assembly and owner's manual for the 2016 version is here: http://download.nautilus.com/supportdocs/AM_OM/Schwinn/SCH.130.MY16.AM-OM.WARR.EN.pdf .

I hope this helps.

How do I connect a resistance motor on a schwinn 220 exercise bike?

You will have to remove the plastic housing by unscrewing several screws about the perimeter. Take your time with the housing and inserts as they can be awkward to maneuver. There are 2 circular plastic inserts for the pedals. These can be popped out of the housing with a bit of effort to allow the housing to be cleared of the motor area without having to remove the pedals. Be careful not to break the plastic tabs on the inserts otherwise you will have to tape or glue them back in place. It will be most helpful to take several detail photos of the existing motor set up in case a screw, bolt, nut, spring, etc., pops loose making it difficult to determine from where it came. When I replaced my motor, the factory rep. recommended for easier installation that I first unplug the existing motor and plug in the replacement motor, then set the resistance to high on the control panel. Once the replacement motor has adjusted to the high setting, unplug the power, unbolt the existing motor and then install the replacement motor. Check the photos taken to ensure the motor's base is in the same alignment as the original motor. Plug the power back in and use the control panel the adjust the resistance to ensure the motor is responding. Then replace the plastic housing and again carefully pedal inserts.
