The plate of my Tefal Pro Express has got badly burned with a brown residue. How can I clean it?

The solution that you gave was exactly what I would have used on my old iron (one of my granny's old cure-alls) but I was concerned that an abrasive substance might damage the plate so decided to ask advice. The vinegar solution alone did not move the burnt on debris but in combination with the bicarbonate of soda - and a lot of mucle power - I have a favourable result and an ironing plate that is much improved. As at this time of writing, the ironing plate appears to have been uneffected by all this effort. However, the bicarb powder blocked up most of the steam holes so I have also had the demanding occupation of unblocking them all!
In essence, the solution created a new problem -- but it worked!

You could try just cleaning it with Vinegar on a cloth. If this doesn't work then a little Baking Soda mixed with the Vinegar.

The third option is to buy a purpose made Iron Cleaning Cloth as in the link below.

Their should be something similar in whatever country you're from.

My tefal pro express which i have had for 6yrs and ive had no trouble has started leaking dirty brown water can you tell me where i can take it to get it fixed in birmingham please.

I opened the side valve, (not when there is hot water within as it will explode in your face) and rinse the water from here. That worked for me.
The problem is the limescale it think which needs to be regularly cleaned out.
hope this helps.

Tefal Pro Express GV 8120 Iron. New Iron - will not heat up and turn itself on. Green light just keeps flashing.

If it is a new iron, take it back to the dealer. Any attempt to repair or adjust on it will void the guarantee.

Why does my Tefal Pro express stain my ironing with brown marks and scale, I fill the tank with softened household water, but I still get a sudden gush of brown scale water. We live in a very hard water...

Its a real pain, but use only distilled water.

Fill your iron with white vinegar and let it steam until empty.. face down on a towel on lowest steam setting.

WE HAVE A TEFAL PRO EXPRESS TURBO FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW AND EVEN AFTER DESCALING THE IRON BROWN STUFF STILL COMES OUT OF THE UNDERNEATH AND THE SIDES WHY ?

It is caused by minirals in the water being heated up and crystallising. Try using distilled water.

Failing that,

It may be cheaper to buy a new one from wallmart or similar store.

Tefal express iron cleaning

Thankfully I was able to clean the boiler compartment, by unscrewing the large bolt on the boiler, cleaned with water only, loads of brown yuck came out, It would then not allow me to use the steamer, Waited until the next morning tried again and working brilliantly again.

Tefal Pro Express Steam Generator doesn't.

OK... so I have fixed my problem of NO STEAM, just lots of water coming out of the iron press plate itself... I had already cleaned the boiler, so I tried adding 1/4 tsp - 1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda to the water and flushing it through. From what came out of the iron press plate, I would say the problem was caused by a build up of goop (technical term) inside the iron. Once cleared, the iron is steaming away again. Please note, u will need to have an old towel handy if this is ur problem, 'cos until it starts getting better, there is a fair amount of water coming out of the iron press plate. Just add the bicarb to the water reserve and use the steam buttons to bring the bicarb through. Do not attempt to iron clothing with the bicarb in the water!!! Carolyn ;)
