Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Need an Adobe Reader up-date. My computer refuses to install it, giving me Error code 800B0100. I keep trying whenever their offer appears on screen, but no luck. Perhaps this is not a valid offer. Presently I have Adobr Reader 9. I'm not really computer savvy, but can usually muddle through simple operations. What do I do now? Kate

Hi,

If you are unable to install the automatic update, you can download the latest version of Adobe Reader from: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

On the page which opens, click on the "Download Now" button to start the download process.

Then follow the download and installation instructions on the next page to complete the installation.

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

How do I stop 'you must reboot your computer' notice that keeps appearing on every boot up. I have installed latest Adobe Reader and problem continues

Hello,

If this problem occurred during the installation of Adobe Reader, then an installation error occured during the installation.
You need to uninstall it, then reinstall it again, and reboot.

Thank you,

try to completely UNINSTALL your adobe reader program. Then reinstall it. If the problem persists, uninstall the program again (Adobe reader) and delete the Adobe Reader folder in your Program Files folder. Then reinstall.

Adobe installation

Hooray! Found the solution. Seems the problem is you must have the Adobe Reader 7.0.9 installer on your system to be able to install 8.1.1. You can d/l version 7.0.9 (which includes the installer) here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/read...llversions.html
Install the whole thing, then you should be able to install your 8.1.1, which will remove the 7.0.9 version in the process, but will use its installer.
