How do I restore sound?

Check the volume icon at the clock in the task bar, does it have a red ring and line through it? If so it's muted. If not you'll need to open your volume settings and check the master volume is turned up.

If the speaker icon isn't there, go to control panel and click in sounds to find the volume adjuster

The phone rings, however I cannot hear the caller

A sound settings have been reduced on the phone or possibly disabled from producing any at all. The sound could be re-enabled by locating on the phone the settings icon and navigating with the arrow keys until the sould iocns could be re-adjsuted. Once at the ssound icon on the phone, useing the option buttons to select sound instead could be customised by increasing volume scroll bar up and down to until found suitable ring tone.

I can make and receive calls, but I cannot hear anything.

Check Windows Sound mixer for application volume. Down in system tray at right side of taskbar double click sound icon for XP or click sound icon once and click Mixer for Vista. Look through volume settings for your phone application. Make sure it is not muted and volume is up.
