Uplug from wall outlet, remove main battery, allow 30 minutes to discharge the player, this will reset the microprocessor ic. Now install battery and plug in the power cord, attempt to operate the device, if no change! buy new player much cheaper.

My dvd player freezes when I view rental/bought movies

Is the player new? If it's a new DVD player and still under warranty, I would return it, exchange it or possibly, consider changing brands: perhaps to a Phillips brand DVD player. After all, the Phillips corporation guarantees its DVD players will play everything, just read the box in which the player's packaged - it's the best bang for your buck. With DVD players being so inexpensive these days, the best option is to buy new. Keep computing Chomskyites.

Dvd drive on dell computer

If you have not recently added any software or did any other changes to your system, try this first. Shut down your computer and open the side panel with a Phillips screw driver. Look for the connectors for the drive and power main (the small one). Unplug them both and reconnect them and make sure that they are firmly in place. If this fails, your burner does not work and needs replacing 6a6a5ed.jpg

Says close when i try to play my dvd.

My MCD288 developed the very same issue just 2 months after buying it. I kept thinking than my little niece had to do something with that, and only today, after 2 years decided to open it up and check. Well the problem is the GREY (not the black one) microswitch that is soldered on a little PCB atteched to the CD/DVD mechanism. You can check it on board with a multymeter. It stops working. I unsoldered it, opened it up, cleaned it and resoldered it. It now accepts CDs and DVDs and does not spit them out after a while. If only I could find a solution for the buzzing sound. It must be defective design. Maybe change C560 and C561 on main amp PCB with smaller capacity ones? Or maybe put away the toroidal transformer?

This is the LAST item I'll ever buy from Phillips. Period. They put an unfinished project on sale... Shame on them..

Greetings from Greece
