Question about Directed Video Mobile DVD Player with 9" Widescreen Overhead LCD Monitor - OHD901 Car Video Player

Open Question

I have just recently bought a new car and a Directed DVD ohd901 player came with it. I am able to turn the dvd player monitor on, but the moniter is not recognizing the dvd player as an input source. It says either, 'AV 1' or 'AV 2'. The dvd drive is able to pop out from the player, and the monitor will still work. The whole playing device is connected to another that allows me to play two more video sources to the monitor (these im guessing are the two AV sources) Thanks William

SOURCE: We have a directed Video

When the DVD stops spinning this happens because the motor which is responsible for spinning the disc has either gone bad or the sensors which trigger the unit to spin the disc is faulty. Usually when this happens the lens of the unit usually gets affected.
To fix this first you have to open up the unit and test if the motor is still functional if it is then the sensor will have to be replaced to enable the unit detect the presence of a disc and roll. After this has been done then you have to try it to see if the lens is intact before you mount the unit back.
But basically the problem with these units is that when one part gets affected it affects numerous other parts so usually i advice get an expert to look at it so a complete repair job will be done and you wont experience an issue of the unit playing but without sounds.
Hope this support has been helpful?
Thank you for visiting FixYa.

Directed 9" Model OHD901 Power comes on, lights will come on, screen shows AV1 & AV2, but will not switch to DVD screen, and will not play dvd.

Each press of this button cycles through sources DVD, AV1, or AV2.

or

SOURCE (MODE)
Press the (SOURCE) button on the remote or momentarily press the POWER button on the left
side of the LCD screen to select the input signal AV1, AV2 or DVD.

The region code on the DVD does not match the player.

Component conecters

alright...those are Component Connectors...your DVD, and VHS will not work with that Monitor at all.

The Best and Cheapest Option...is to Buy a "Modern" DVD Player...which almost every single one Has Component Connectors.

On your Current DVD, VHS...ECT. The Red and White is Audio respectively, and the Yellow is the Video.

On a Component However the Red, Blue, and green...are all Video. You will need to use your "Current" Red and White Audio Jacks from your DVD and VHS Players on your New Monitor, and New DVD Player.

As Far as VHS is concerned...if you Buy a DVD/VHS Combo...you should have a S-Video Jack on Both the Monitor, and the DVD/VHS Player...Buy a S-Video Plug.

With that you will be able to watch both DVD's, and VHS Tapes without issue

it may seem obvios but take the dvd player out of the dashboard and check all connections.if this fails you may have to take it to a audio specialist to check if the internal amplifier of the unit is functioning correctly.
