My Samsung Home Theatre HT-Z221 has suddenly stopped recognizing my pal region. How do I restore it, or better still, make it region free?

Region Codes and Analog Standards (PAL/NTSC) are two entirely different things.

It is supposed to be region 4, and it has suddenly stopped accepting region 4 dvd's

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: free regions code

Hi,I've found this on another forum, and I'm considering buying a Z510 not sure what differnce there might be with Z510T... Check this out and if it works for u then I'll know I have the hack before I buy it, otherwise I'l go for another model... Hope it solves ur problems too V
I've tried in mine Z210T - should work as well in the Z510T and Z310T - and it works perfectly (originally region 4).

1. Disconnect your player from its power source for thirty seconds
2. Reconnect your player to its power source
3. Press the Power On button on your remote control
4. Select DVD and wait for the NO DISC on TV
5. Press the Enter button on your remote control
6. Press the 8 button on your remote control
7. Press the 4 button on your remote control
8. Press the 2 button on your remote control
9. Press the 6 button on your remote control
10. Press the 9 button on your remote control
11. Press the Enter button on your remote control
12. Your player should now place itself in Standby mode (Good-Bye appears in the display and the device turn off)
13. Turn on the HT and try your DVDs from other regions!

Region free code samsung

Unless you bought a DVD for multi-region(very difficult to find), most especially without the remote, you will not be able to change the region code. These firmware changes are generally uploaded by inserting a disc with the firmware on it. These units are manufactured this way with firmware(software) downloaded, or imbedded within the Microprocessor(computer or memory) and not be changed. I have a Samsung HT BD2 region 4, I go many region 1, they wont play, how can I make it play?

To unlock the DVD code its defends upon what region you belongs or from were you bought the DVD unit. Just click this site to hack the region code ; http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks

To keep it simple, this means that DVD players and DVDs are labeled for operation on within a specific geographical region in the world. For example, the U.S. is in region 1. This means that all DVD players sold in the U.S. are made to region 1 specifications. As a result, region 1 players can only play region 1 discs. That's right, the DVDs themselves are encoded for a specific region. On the back of each DVD package, you will a find a region number (1 thru 6).
The geographical regions are as follows:
REGION 1 -- USA, Canada
REGION 2 -- Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland
REGION 3 -- S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia
REGION 4 -- Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico)
REGION 5 -- Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa
REGION 6 -- China
REGION 7 -- Reserved for Unspecified Special Use
REGION 8 -- Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc...
REGION 0 or REGION ALL -- Discs are uncoded and can be played Worldwide, however, PAL discs must be played in a PAL-compatible unit and NTSC discs must be played in an NTSC-compatible unit.

The end result is that DVDs encoded for regions other than Region 1 cannot be played on a region 1 DVD player, also, players marketed for other regions cannot play region 1-stamped DVDs

Hope it may help you;

No disc on samsung

Hey,
For clarification, was this home theatre system purchased in North America? If so, in all odds it is a "Region 1" DVD player. To play a "Region 2" video, you will need either a 'multi region' player or one that is designated as a "Region 2"

Hortona
