Slow the mouse down on windeows 8

Although you don't specify which model, since you posted under the "Logitech Cordless Mouse" heading, I assume you have a Logitech mouse. In my experience, even modestly advanced (e.g., cordless, >2 buttons, etc.) Logitech mice don't always play well with mouse & keyboard settings tools found in Windows' Control Panel. Mr. Freeman's suggested adjustment to the generic Windows mouse management settings might be adequate for now. However, you're always better off using software specifically designed for your product.

The program you need is called SetPoint, and it's the key to getting full use out of your mouse or other Logitech device. All versions of the SetPoint software, and drivers for Logitech products, are available for free download at the Logitech support website. Here's the link:

Slow down mouse speed

If your mouse came with software that you installed, use that software to slow down your mouse speed.

I will assume that you are using Windows. If this is the case, go into Control Panel and open Mouse options. You can change the pointer speed there.

Internet reset

The Internet Explorer Web browser lets you customize you settings and install add-ons to personalize your copy of Internet Explorer.
Personalizing is a good thing in most cases, but it may also lead to problems.
If Internet Explorer slows down while browsing, takes a long time to launch or displays error messages, then it may be necessary to restore it to the default settings.
This is referred to as resetting, and provides a clean copy of Internet Explorer to browse and customize.
Open the Start menu and type "inetcpl.cpl" in the search field and press "Enter."
In Windows XP click the "Run" option of the Start menu, type "inetcpl.cpl" and press "Enter."

Click on the "Advanced" tab of the window that appears.
Click the "Reset" button in the "Reset Internet Explorer settings" section. Click "Reset" again to confirm your choice.

Wait for the process to finish.
Click "Close."
Internet Explorer has been reset to its default settings.

Why does it take a very long time to open a laptop or file?

If you posted the Acer Model and the OS you are using it would be helpful. If you are referring to a slow Boot and slow running I would start by Cleaning the junk from your machine and disabling startup and running processes. Run a Full scan with your up-to-date Anti Virus. Run a Full Scan with Freeware MALWAREBYTES: Uncheck the Trial Pro version, you want the freeware version. Run a FULL Scan, delete ALL results, reboot. Download freeware CCLEANER to clean the junk from your machine, in the TOOLS section, STARTUP section, Disable ALL unnecessary startup programs, reboot. With out knowing your OS I'll give you a Windows 7 procedure to increase speed:,2817,2364937,00.asp This is a start, you can also add more memory, faster HDD, etc. As the computer gets used more and more software and junk is added slowing it down, get rid of the junk and unnecessary startup programs.

Try SWITCH COMPUTERS and see if it could help. IF IT DOES THEN
Heres some simple things to check
------------------------ IS your computer INFECTED ? IS it slowing down ? IS laggy ?
then if such symptoms exist - then REFORMATTING or SCAN it with an antivirus or anti-trojan software on your computer

Slowing down suddenly when gaming

Hi rajiv2612.
Suggest you check for any software update's from GeForce for you're 8600 GT. Also check for any software patches for the game (s). (Include windows update service as well).
The normal stuff like running windows system defrag & disk cleanup utilities should be run once a month for gamers.
Lastly, if you feel heat may be an issue. Open the PC case & leave opened while playing the game that seems to slow down the most. If the game does not slow down (After checking & updating all of the above), than maybe you need to add a 3" fan to the case, so fresh air blows directly onto the 8600 GT.

Good Luck!
