if the light goes green for a very short period before going red again
it means theres a short on the circuit board. u can try and find the
problem but because the circuitry is very small, it wont be easy to
find. only other solution is to buy a new circuit board :(
With new batteries the leapster should of turned on. Take the batteries out and look on the contacts inside where the batteries would normally go. See if there any corrosion or anything sticking to the contacts. If it is then clean it with a rag and glass cleaner and then try new batteries again, if it doesn't work then you know the mainboard inside is bad. Also if nothing is on the contacts and you know for sure the batteries are new then the mainboard would still be the culprit. At that point you would have to buy a new leapster because there is no parts available for it. If its under warranty bring it back to the store where you got it so they can get you another one.
Yes all you have to do is (first of all check the batteries) find out whitch parts of the console is not working (I don't know how sorry about that) and replace it. Wish i could be of more help. maybe try going to the LeapFrog LeapSter L-Max Console website
