It was Keeping a hidden file open in its Daemon I got it out by disconnecting the either-net cable going off line and tricked it sort of I not sure the revo would work with that file open like that I know this weak *** IOBIT did very little. That was the name I was trying to find for the uninstall remove whatever you want to call it. You know my truck has an operating system I sure am glad it is nothing like Microsoft's' or we would all be dead!! you do not have permission to stop turn you must restart your vehicle now.

I forgot the cmos password .sony vaio model mbx 171

Hi

Sony notebook computers must be taken apart to reset the BIOS password to the factory default when the current password is forgotten or simply unavailable. A small battery inside the computer must be removed for a period of time in order for the password to reset. This requires notebook repair skills specific to Sony notebooks, and should only be attempted by a technician who is familiar with the process of taking Sony notebooks apart and putting them back together without damaging the parts.
Two way to remove BIOS password.

1) Soft reset 2) Hard reset
Soft Reset
BIOSpasswords can be reset in two ways,
1. using software 2. using hardware.

I would first try resetting using software, here are two software's to reset orretrieve BIOS passwords.

!BIOS- is a PC BIOS toolkit offering password removal/decrypt and BIOS settingsmodification/backup/restore.

CmosPwd- Cmos password recovery tools

Hard Reset

Step 1
Back up the hard drive to optical discs, an external hard drive or a network location to safeguard any important files. Step 2
Shut down the computer by clicking "Start" (Windows Orb) and choosing "Shut Down." Step 3
Disconnect the Sony notebook power adapter cable from the wall and from the back of the laptop. Step 4
Close the lid and flip the notebook over to expose the bottom screws and compartments. Step 5
Remove the main battery from the bottom of the Sony notebook. Step 6
Remove the compartment covers for the RAM and the hard drive. Step 7
Remove the hard drive by unscrewing the bracket that holds the drive in place and pulling gently on the drive until it disengages from the socket. Step 8
Remove the RAM by spreading the small metal retention clips that hold it into place, and then pivoting the RAM up slightly and pulling it out of the sockets. Step 9
Remove each of the small screws from the bottom of the Sony notebook, and place them on a clean, flat surface in a pattern that represents which hole each screw came from. Step 10
Gently flip the Sony notebook right-side up and open the lid. Step 11
Separate the base of the Sony notebook from the upper case by gently pressing the plastic knife or credit card into the seam and pulling the top away from the bottom. Step 12
Disconnect the wire that connects the small coin cell battery pack to the motherboard, or remove the coin cell battery from the socket, depending upon the model of the Sony notebook. Some models may require that the motherboard be removed from the case in order to access the battery. Step 13
Wait one hour with the battery disconnected and reassemble. The BIOS password will be cleared and the computer will boot into the BIOS setup program or to the operating system. This process does not clear any operating system passwords. Tips & Warnings
  • Reset a known BIOS password on Sony notebook computers by entering BIOS setup using the "F10" key on startup. Enter the existing password, and navigate to the security screen in the BIOS setup program to choose a new password. Consult the owner's manual for specific instructions on particular Sony models. Use a blank piece of paper to set the screws as they are removed, marking them or arranging them as necessary. It is important to replace the exact same screw into each hole that it came out of as there are often several different s of screws.
  • Notebook computers are assembled with small, delicate plastic tabs that are easily damaged. Internal cables and assemblies can be broken or damaged with relatively little force. Leave this technique to a professional technician if unsure of how to take a Sony notebook computer apart. Do not let the computer go into sleep or hibernation mode or simply shut the lid as this is not a full proper shutdown and the hard drive can become corrupted if the computer is not properly shut down for this operation.
Give me the thumb if you problem solve.

I have a Dell Computer. I am not technically inclined, but have been receiving messages for months that my arc soft connect is having problems & do I want to report this to microsoft...I do this...

I'm assuming you want to uninstall the program. To do this open up your control panel and then follow the directions below.

(Vista and Windows 7) Look for Uninstall Program and then navigate through the list looking for programs made my Arcsoft.

(XP) Look for Add/Remove Programs and then find the program in the list and double click it. Follow the instructions on the screen.

If you have more questions please feel free to post back.

Thanks!

How to remove cd/dvd drive from Toshiba satellite A135-S7406

  • Turn off your Toshiba Satellite, turn it over and remove the battery from its compartment on the bottom of the computer.

  • 2

Locate the rectangular hard drive cover in the corner of the computer and use your Phillips head screwdriver remove the single screw holding it in place. A metal tab will now be exposed in the hard drive compartment.

  • 3

Locate the single screw just below the hard drive compartment and remove it. This is the screw that holds the CD drive in place.

  • 4

Use the tip of your screwdriver to push the metal tab in the hard drive compartment in as far as it will go. The CD drive will then pop slightly out of the side of the computer.

  • 5

Grip the drive at its end and gently slide it out of the computer. You are now free to replace the CD drive if necessary

    How to reboot computer

    hi
  • Decide what kind of reboot you are going to do. A soft reboot is performed the way you are “supposed” to do it. For a soft Windows reboot, go to the Start menu and select “Shut Down” or “Restart.” The computer will then shut itself down. Clicking “Restart” makes it boot up without further intervention from you.
  • Step 2 Perform a hard reboot by pushing the computer’s power button and holding it until the computer shuts down. Wait 45 seconds and restart the computer by pushing the power button again. You may have to start up in safe mode, but that also allows you the chance to restart properly or work on programs in a safer way. This method may cause you to lose data or mess up the operation of some of your programs. But it may be the only option if your computer's hard drive is frozen.
  • Step 3 Power down all of the computer's components. Shut off all of the peripherals you have attached to your computer, and disconnect the cables. Then, plug all of the peripherals back in, and restart your computer. This can often solve problems with your hard drive.
  • Step 4 Purchase and install a program such as Drive Reboot Restore PC 6.0 that streamlines the hard drive reboot process. These applications help prevent the problems that can develop after repeated computer use. They also ensure that your hard drive maintains the configuration you want each time you turn it on.
  • Step 5 Investigate what the problem may be with your hard drive. Because of its delicate nature, your hard drive can very easily be thrown off.

Computer will only start in safe mode hp cue root and hp help and restore are not working? what is the best resolution? hard drive failure?

I have included some directions from HP about using an embedded Hard drive test. This is done using the BIOS. Try this to rule out a hard drive problem. This is supposed to also repair some hard drive issues. Then, we can go from there.

    Brian

Perform a hard drive self test Many computer problems are related to soft failures on the hard drive. The comprehensive portion of the HP Hard Drive Self Test repairs soft errors on the hard drive, but does not report the errors. After the test completes, be sure to restart the computer to determine if the test repaired any problems you are experiencing with your computer. To use the HP Hard Drive Self Test, follow the steps below. NOTE: If the notebook computer is configured with two hard drives, then it may be necessary to test each drive separately.
    1. If the notebook computer is running solely on battery power, plug the AC adapter into the notebook.
    2. Shut down the computer if it is running.
    3. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    4. Press f10 when the HP/Compaq logo displays.
    5. After the BIOS Setup Utility displays, use the Right Arrow key to select the Diagnostics menu.
    6. Select HDD Self-Test options .
    7. Press enter to display a list of HDD/Self-Test options.
    8. Select Notebook Hard Drive and then press f10 to display an Estimated test time .
    9. Press f10 to continue. The Hard Drive Self Test executes a Quick test , a Comprehensive test, and a SMART test.
If any test fails , contact HP for instructions on how to order a replacement hard drive. If all of the tests pass, the hard drive is not damaged. As a rule, HP does not replace a hard drive that is under warranty if it does not fail the HP Hard Drive Self Test.

My computer dosen't turn on. How can I transfer the data from the hard drive to an external hard drive

Open the computer and remove the hard drive install it into another computer as a slave drive and read from it. If yo don`t know how to do that then just take the drive to a computer parts store and purchase the necessary cables so that you can attach it to your present computer USB port or have them transfer the files for you for a small fee.

Just got a new 3 games for my 360 and now it shows E68 along with the red circle eye or death lol. Can't play my game please help

    Hi Chris

E68: Hard Drive Error - Hard drive not DMA configured: It could be a problem with the Hard Drive itself or a problem with the internal connection to the hard drive, Try removing the hard drive and playing without it. Also this can be caused by a problem with the fans that make them draw too much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories attached to the console like an external fan unit. Attempt to remove unnecessary accessories first, and then necessary components such as the hard drive and USB devices. If you have any case mods you may want to investigate those as well.

check if after removing the drive if you still get the red light error or not, if the red light issue still prevails please send your console to MS support for repairs

    Reinstall Hard Drive

    1. Step 1 Back up your data. Make sure you back up any important data stored on the hard drive in the event something goes wrong. Also, if you are selling or giving the hard drive to someone else, you should erase any data on the disk by formatting it.
    2. Step 2 Open the case. Remove any metal rings, watches or bracelets you may be wearing. Unplug the computer from the electrical outlet, then touch the metal casing to eliminate any static charge. You can also use an anti-static wrist strap if you prefer. Check the user's manual if necessary to determine how to open your particular PC case.
    3. Step 3 Locate the hard drive. Typically the hard drive will be connected to a flat 2 1/2 inch wide IDE cable and a power cable. Hard drives are often housed in removable metal cages which are secured to the computer case with one or more screws. Refer to your user's manual to locate the hard drive if necessary.
    4. Step 4 Disconnect the hard drive. Unplug the hard drive from the IDE and power cables. Grab the plastic IDE cable connector with your thumb and forefinger and gently pull until the connector breaks free. The power cable can be difficult to remove if the connector is fitted tightly. Make sure you don't bend any of the pins when disconnecting the cables.
    5. Step 5 Remove the hard drive. If the hard drive is fitted in a metal cage, locate and remove the screws that are holding the cage in place. Hold your hand under the cage to catch it if necessary. Once the cage is free, remove the small screws on either side of the hard drive to remove it from the cage. If the hard drive is connected directly to the computer case, simply remove the screws on each side of the hard drive and slide it out of the case.
