Same proble (getting unwanted alignment form when not needed

Still can't figue out where "settings" you mentioned can be found in HP solution software or instructions, let alone in Windows XP. Have found I can keep printer (HP 1350 All In One) ready all day, and form will not be printed unless I change cartridges. Would like to understand how to set things they way they were for more than two years of regular use, only to change recently. Many thanks for your continued advice.

Ok i need you to follow these steps.

1.unplug the USB cable from the printer.

2.take one of the alignment pages and put it face down on the glass of the scanner and press the scan button.

3.when it is doing this the on light will blink. wait until the on light stops blinking.

4.turn thr printer off and than turn it back on. it should not print another alignment page.

If it does you will need to buy new HP cartiges.
If they have been refilled multipyle time sometime the printer will not register that the printer has been aligned already.
let me know what happens.

Copy feeder keeps jamming!

Is your printer connected to a wall outlet or to a surge protector?
If it is connected to a surge protector then it is going to give you paper jam problems.
For resolving just follow below mentioned steps and I am sure it will resolve this problem.

Note: for getting better performance by an HP printer it is always suggested to connect it to a wall outlet and not to a surge protector.

Follow the below mentioned link (you will find detailed steps with pictures):

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01110425&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=2512009

after completing the steps mention ed in the above link then we should do the below mentioned hard re-set :

1 - Disconnect the power chord from the back of the printer and then from surge protector or wall outlet.
2 - Wait for 20 seconds and now first connect the power chord to the wall outlet and then to the back of the printer. Now printer will start.

3 - Printer might print an alignment page which will consume a little bit of more ink but it is good for your printer. If it starts printing alignment page then dont interrupt during that proces.

Hpphotosmartc4380 the printing is badly out of line .How do yoy align the cartridges?

Hello,

You may want to run the alignment program again. Below are the steps as found on page 84 of the manual found here.

To align the print cartridges from the HP Photosmart Software
1.
In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click
Printer Toolbox.
NOTE: You can also open the Printer Toolbox from the Print Properties dialog
box. In the Print Properties dialog box, click the Services tab, and then click
Service this device.
The Printer Toolbox appears.
2. Click the Device Services tab.
3. Click Align the Print Cartridges.
The HP All-in-One prints a print cartridge alignment sheet.
4. When prompted, ensure plain white letter or A4 paper is loaded in the input tray, then
press the button next to OK.
NOTE: If you have colored paper loaded in the input tray when you align the print
cartridges, the alignment will fail. Load unused plain white paper into the input
tray, and then try the alignment again.
The HP All-in-One prints a test page, aligns the print head, and calibrates the printer.
5. Load the page print side down on the right front corner of the glass, and then press
the button next to OK to scan the page.
When the On button stops flashing, the alignment is complete and the page can be
removed. Recycle or discard the page.
