I inserted my memory card into my mobile phone but it says 'bad format' what can i do

It seems that your phone memory card contains the virus.

So scan your memory card using the anti virus installed in your machine.

You can scan you memory card for antivirus using the Avira anti virus.

Please download the anti virus from :

http://www.avira.com/en/free-download-avira-antivir-personal?

Download the .exe file from the link.

Install the software in your computer.

Remove the memory card from the phone and connect in your machine using the memory card reader and scan the card for viruses or malwares.

or

The memory card contains the bad sectors.

BAD SECTORS

Your hard drive is divided into bits called sectors. When these sectors start to go bad, that means that the computer cannot read or write any data on those sectors. You cannot remove bad sectors and once you start seeing bad sectors it is a sign that your hard drive is about to crash permanently so you need to replace your hard drive and make sure you back up all ofyour important data immediately.

How to remove bad sectors from hard disc

I have used Spinrite 6.0 with great success. I highly recommend it! It is an investment of about $80, but will repay itself many times if you are trying to recover data (which I have done from bad discs) or 'clean up' bad sectors permanently. Bad sector

I was looking on http:// freeware arena.com and noticed a download that claims to be able to recover data from almost anything.
Virus?? Have you checked?
HDD's tend to go bad as you are describing, "bad sectors" ever increasing, even after format more turn up. Not good. New disk required?

dear, scan with effective antivirus.if install antivirus does not work then install new other antivirus then watch its work or not because some antivirus does not work on some spacial virus that's why you have to install new antivirus. other wise there is no way to remove virus besides format hard disk.

What is the jumper setting to make this a slave

If it's USB you shouldn't have to mess with the jumper settings but here is a site that appears to have them for TravelStar: http://www.ontrack.com/jumperviewer/ If the drive is not showing up in My Computer make sure there is a drive letter available for it to use. You can right click on the My Computer icon, select Manage and then go to Disk Management and see if the drive shows up there and then assign it to a different letter.
