Have you tried unplugging the machine for a minute or two and then plugging it back up?

  • Richard Hale
    Richard Hale May 27, 2011

Is it a constant beeping or four beeps, five beeps? So there is power to the panel, correct? I am not familiar with the specific code but we should be able to figure it out anyway. What is your washer doing? Cheers as well.

Ok then. We know the reset didn't work and the washer is not spinning. Have you checked to see if the belt is broken or loose yet? If not, check that and make sure the pulley on the belt is not sticking. I want you to check the lid switch on your washer also. This is the same switch that activates the wash. Just make sure it is not loose. I don't believe that is the cause but check it anyway. It is possible that it is bad. When they go bad, it will cause problems such as this. I am not familiar with this type of washer but all of them are basically the same. You may have an issue with the drive motor. The drive motor controls the spinning, agitation, and the draining. It may be that or something else but we will get to that eventually. Go ahead and check the belt and switch if you haven't yet. We may need access to a voltage meter to test certain parts for power as well. Since you are getting water to the tub, rule out the water pump and inlet valve. When you respond, tell me how old the washer is as well. Cheers.

It is possible for the washer to agitate but not spin. The drive motor usually has a reverse setting, which means it will spin one way and agitate the opposite way. The motor could still be at fault. I would say it is between the belt, lid switch, motor, or coupler. The water level switch can be bad also. The washer may think the level is incorrect and cause the washer to not spin. You need a voltage meter though to test these parts though. It is possible that one of those parts are not getting power due to a bad wire or bad connection. I know it is a lot to check but it is the only way to find your problem. Are you able to do any of these test yourself?

I want you to try this. See if you can drain the washer by moving the timer switch. Set it on the final spin and see if it spins. When you lower your lid switch, listen for a clicking sound. If so, the lid switch may be fine. If you hear nothing, it may be bad. The only way to know for sure is by testing it. You could have a bad timer possibly to. I don't know if the code is for lid lock or not. That may be your problem, needing a new lid switch. Not for sure though. Just thought about it.

Can you hear a clicking noise when you shut the lid? Do you have a voltage meter yet?

  • Richard Hale
    Richard Hale May 27, 2011

I will be leaving for work in the next two hours so I will not be able to post until later, 12 hours from now. I believe it is your timing switch then since you conducted that test. The lid switch is working then so we can cross that out, as well as the motor and belt. Get yourself a new timing switch. I believe that will fix your problem. I appreciate all your kind comments and bearing with me. That should solve your problem. Thank you for choosing FixYa.

Alright this LL error code means large load and that is the
reason it cannot spin, remove some items from the tub and then press
START/CANCEL button twice to reset it. If the load is not too large and you have taken some items
out and it still comes up displaying the error code "LL" it may be
caused from a friction issue. It could be the spinner support with bearing
causing the code if it's creating enough friction. You did not indicate if it
has any problems with draining water. If the washer is not able to drain
completely it could also cause the "LL" error code.

Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I amcross stitching bibs by hand and I would like to know how to hide the stitches on the reverse side so the bibs look nice enough to sell or give for presents

Use a separate fabric and stitch it on to the reverse side and into the existing border stitching for a nice seam. For a bib I would suggest something plastic like to stop fluid from seeping through. Your local fabric store should have some inexpensive plastic fabric for this.

Could I "stack" a front

i would not recommend stacking one machine directly on top of another. there are various issues with weight, and movement due to vibration.
what you can do is built a solid "workbench" that you can fit one machine under, and then put the other machine on top of the "bench"
personally i would overbuild the bench, using 2" by 1" wood for the frame, braced and bolted to the wall for stability, and use a 1"thick worktop forv the top of the unit. on the top surface, i would also put a 3/8" wooden beading strip about 1/2" fron the outside edges of the worktop to stop the machine moving with vibration and falling off.
i have done this a number of times when space is limited, although i find it much easier to put tehr dryer on the top as it is the lightest of the 2 units.

hope this helps

Auto temperature control is incorrect, the setting cold cold is Hot Hot

Maybe check that each hose is connected to the respective water bib, Hot to Hot on back of washer cold to cold?? It is easy to confuse these during machine hookup. (Worth a shot anyway).

Water coming out of soap drawer

Some washing machines, can flood water out of the soap dispenser when a hose gets blocked (usually with un dissolved soap powder) .Water flooding out of the front of a washing machine's soap dispenser can also be an indication of overfilling or a partial pump blockage if it does it when spinning.
Black gunge in the top of the soap dispenser can cause water to spray towards the front and leak. Take out the soap dispenser drawer and look at the roof of the soap dispenser. If it's covered in black gunge, blocking some of the water holes, it could be causing problems. In extreme cases you have to replace the dispenser.

Leaking outdoor hose bib

ok this is an easy one.  you have what is called a  frost free hose bib.  this is split or has a hole in it after the seat.  the seat is inside the house wall.  you need to cut off the copper inside the house and replace the valve .  if it is not a solder joint than have someone hold back on the copper on the inside and you should be able to spin it off and replace it.  P.S if this is the case make sure you use T-tape on the threaded conection

We just purchased a top load Kenmore 800 washer machine. We have washed 2 loads of clothes and Now it has stopped filling up with water. It will not do it to wash or to rinse. We have gone thru the mannual...

8 out of 10 times the hose screens are clogged.  1. Remove the hoses from the back of the machine, but leave them connected to the hose bibs.  2. Remove the screen from the hose (it may be stuck at the back of the machine) (This is where deposits usually build up.) 3. Aim the hoses into the drum or a bucket and turn on the bibs. 4. If you don't have a full flow of water coming out of the hoses you will need to remove the hoses from the bibs and reverse the process. Good Luck.
