i think its the wires mate.
if you wnt to try something Discconect the battery of the car. let it 10 minutes and then plug it again. if it not work
the problems are the wires.

Check on the web for the distribution of the colors and wires from ur stereo and from the car.

I have a 12" d4 type r 1000 rms and a alpine 1000 amp speaker sounds great but smells like something is burning, my amp never over heats or shuts down but the smell is still coming from the sub?

Cut your gain back on the amp. It sounds like they are set too high. Check your install instructions on how to set your gain. If you have a 4 or 5 volt output head unit your will not be at half way. Im running a JL Audio 500 /1 on a skar wwv10 dvc in a ported box. My gain is set about half way & its plenty loud.I have a Alpine 9887 headunit 5 volt output on my RCAsI can take a volt meter & set my speaker output at 45amps & my gain in perfect.

I have a cda. 9887. It powers on but gets no sound from any of the speaker wires. What could be wrong. What can I try.

Most Alpine CDA units come with an option to turn on/off the internal amplifier in order to give you better sound when connecting an external amplifier. Try turning on IC

Speakers dont work with CD, but work with radio.

I just had this problem with my e34 bimmer, just connect the blue wire to with the red wire (apparently the 9887 shuts off the antenna when the radio is off). so in my case, bmw thought it was a good idea to wire the two together, which means you go to CD and the Deck shuts off the amp, killing the speakers.

Ipod control?

You can purchase the KCA-420i and connect it to to the ai-net port behind the headunit. This will allow you to send signal from your ipod to your alpine headunit while still retaining your operating functions to the ipod. Can be purchased for about 10 bucks on ebay.

Stations on radio will not set

A car radio needs two sources of power. A little bit of 12 volt all the time and more power when you want to hear the music. Also known as battery(all the time) and ignition (when the "power" is on). It might be a bad connection on battery power or it wasn't connected right. Battery power is needed to keep the presets and the clock setting.

I just installed an alpine deck and all i get is the word 'interrupt' on the display and nothing will play.

When a device having the interrupt feature (such as a cellular telephone) is connected to the receiver, the audio signal will be automatically muted whenever the interrupt signal is received from the device. The supplied wiring harness contains a pink/black Interrupt lead that needs to be connected to the device's interrupt signal connection.
