I have recently gotten my phone (Pantech Ease) wet because I jumped in the pool with it in my pocket. I took out the battery and SIM card and put it in rice. After about a day, I put the battery back in and turned it on, but the speaker was making a static noise. So I put it in rice again. After a few hours, I attempted to take apart the screen and dry that out, but some of the screws were covered by the sliding keyboard. Luckily, my phone turned on, but I soon discovered it wouldn't charge. So it died, and we ordered a new battery, and now it still won't charge, even with the new battery... Is there anything I can do?

SOURCE: my phone keeps turning on and off

I had this same problem at one point, but by master resetting the phone it worked fine again. To do so, you go to "Settings", then "Reset", then "Master Reset".

The problem with doing this though, is that any ringtones, photos, videos, etc. will be deleted from your phone. Don't remember if it wipes off the contacts too, though.

SOURCE: My pantech matrix cell phone says insert sim card

This problem arises sometimes because the mobile is unable to read the SIM. May be you should fold a small piece of paper in the same size of the SIM and keep it on top of the SIM and then insert the Battery. I think this will solve your problem.

How can I remove battery cover on pantech ease

The back cover on the Pantech Ease is difficult but not impossible to remove. This is what works for me: First turn the phone off (for 2 reasons). Most importantly the phone should be off before you remove or replace the battery, memory card or sim card. The other reason if because it is almost impossible to remove back cover without accidentally pressing any buttons and/or the touch screen (I accidentally called someone once). Next remember The Trick is All Thumbs. On my Pantech Ease it is almost impossible to open the back cover without using Both Thumbs Pressing Down while simultaneously using Both Thumbs to Slide the cover off. It also seems to work better if you hold the phone sideways so when you are pressing and sliding the cover if sliding off to one side or the other. The bright side of having a cover like this is that the cover does not easily pop off when you don't want it like other phones I have owned in the past. Hope this solution is helpful.

I dropped my pantech ease in water for about two seconds. I removed the battery and put it in a container with uncooked rice for a day. I put the battery and sim card back in. The phone lights up when...

No... taking it apart .. unless you KNOW what you are doing is not smart.. take the battery out.. when the sun is out and there is NO chance of rain..sit it outside in a bowl of uncooked rice.. it will dry out.. you might have to clean the contact surfaces where the sim card goes.. With the battery OUT.. use a magnifying glass (this is a tiny area and a tedious undertaking) and a long sewing needle to lightly rub the contact surfaces to remove any corrosion.. make sure the contacts are clean and reinstall the sim card and battery,,,

I recently jumped into a pool with my cell phone in my pocket (SAMSUNG Reality). I realized it 10 minues or so after. Dried the phone. A day later, the phone will turn on when connected to charger...

When phone gets wet NEVER try to turn it on. Take battery out right away shake water off and put both in bowl of rice for at least 24 hrs. If your not home or don't have rice right away take battery out and get some. We have a bowl of rice on the counter all summer long for those who jump in the pool with phone in their pocket. I have washed them dropped them in the toilet my son jumped in pool with his phone, put it rice for 24 hrs and we were up and running with the exception of the one in the pool, that one cost me new battery on Ebay ($4.95) but phone worked fine, didn't even lose contacts or pictures. But the key is to NOT try to turn it on after its been wet. Water and batteries don't mix.

LG VU GOT WeT!!!!!!

Ok. Heres what happened to me:

I forget my LG Vu (CU920) was in my pocket and I jumped in the pool. I was in the pool for about 10 minutes before I realized. It was full of water. I took the battery out as soon as I realized it. HERES HOW I FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!

Step 1- I took it home, removed the screws on the back panel, and removed it. Now the entire back casing was off.

Step 2- I put the phone and battery (separate) in a bowl of uncooked rice. Sounds crazy but this absorbs all of the water. I left it in there for 2 days.

Step 3- After 2 days, I put the battery back in and everything turned on. Only problem was there was a big bubble in my LCD screen. I then took the phone apart further by popping of the front casing of the phone. I then try to get underneath the LCD to air it out, but I accidentally broke the LCD screen (inside the phone...not plastic outer screen).

Step 4- I went online and purchased a new LCD screen for around $40 from a cel phone parts website. I got it and installed it which was not too hard. You just have to remove all the visible screws (i believe there are 6) from the back side. Then pop off the front cover and the rest is pretty obvious.

Step 5- Put it all back together and it all worked again!

Step 6- My battery soon died after of all this...Im guessing from the water damage. I bought a new one online for around 20 bucks. Now the phone is good as new.

All in all spent 60 bucks and revived the Vu from water damage!!!!!!!!!

Wet dash

There's still water in it. You'll need to take the battery out and let it dry another two days. I got my phone wet one time and it took a week before it worked again.
