My freezer is not blowing cold out. I hear the compressor running but its not getting cold

most likely bad evaporator fan motor located behind the wall in the freezer, when you open the freezer door you should hear the fan blowing in the freezer unless it's in defrost,if you don't hear it check it in 45 minutes if still no fan it's bad.

Refrigerator side is not cold enough the Freezer side is fine, is there a fan that blowes the air from freezer into refrigerator and where is it located

Not necessarily. There may be 2 compressors on the back of the unit, one for each side. If no,t the fan will blow cold air from the freezer's evaporator into the fridge side and will be between the two.

Refrigerator runs but doesn't get cold. Cleaned out the coil and there doesn't seem to be any leakage.

first thing to check is "is the freezer cold" the freezer is the only part of the unit that actually gets cold a small fan that is located behind the rear panel inside the freezer blows the cold air through a small door that opens and closes letting cold air into the refrigerator side first check to see if the freezer is cold if it is then you would check the fan if the fan is blowing there is a control located in the ceiling of the refrigerator that activates the door if the door is not opening then replace the control the door control is what controls the door opening and closeing according to what tempreture it is inside the fridge side if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations Thanks again Rick

Refrigerator side warm bur appears freezer still

the freezer feeds cold air to the fridge side, there's an evaperator fan that just blows the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator side and then it returns to the freezer through the air ducts.check this, when you open the freezer door do you hear the fan blowing in there?if you don't you have a bad evap fan motor,if you hear it,remove the second draw from the bottom in the freezer side and touch the back wall,if there's ice or like snow on the back wall you have a defrost problem.if this is it send me the model number and i can look up the parts in your machine and i can help you, also look to see if there's droplets and ice on the food and shelves in the freezer, somebody could have left the door open and the air ducts frooze up and the air can't blow from one side to the other, let me know what you find and i'll help you out

Refrigerator is not cold

Hi Louis,

This is what has happened. Due to the door being opened for so long moisture which is naturally in the air has collected on your freezer coils. What you need to do is turn the whole thing off for at least 24 hours. Open the doors and put some towels around it to let the frost melt out.
All the air that gets cooled in your unit gets cooled by a fan that pulls air through those coils. Once the frost has melted out of them it should cool just fine.

Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM). Heavy frost indicates defrost problem.

NO COLD AIR BLOWING TO REFRIGERATOR

The fan in the freezer blows its air through the COILS in the freezer. If the coils are plugged with frost, there will be no breeze coming into the fresh food compartment. One other thing i have seen on Amana and Sears, is that the fan slips on the motor shaft. Make sure the fan blade is tight on the shaft.

Side by side freezer works fine ice cold.fridge not so good. only at 57 degrees

Listen for the fan motor to run. Open the freezer\ push the door switch with your finger \ listen for the fan that blows the cold air to the fridge. only the freezer side gets cold...fan blows cold to the fridge side. If the defrost timer has broken then ice may be blocking the flow of cold air to the fridge also. Only 2 things to check. Good Luck

Bottom of freezer/fridge only getting cold.

Thre is a fan inside the freezer which circulates the cold air around both the fridge and the freezer compartments.
You should be able to feel cold air blowing around the inside, particularly at the top of the freezer.
If the defrost thermostat fails open, the internal fan (depending on freezer) will stop and this can be the cause of the freezer being warm at the top and no ice.
You say the bottom of the freezer is blowing cold, but are you sure its blowing, as it can feel like a cold blow. Of course the fan could have failed or may be the defrost heater itself.
Have a look at this site for some useful trouble shooting

LG icebeam door cooling

Normally the fans get turned off when you open the door so it does not blow all the cold air out. The fans should only run when the doors are closed. Push in the door switch and see if the fan works then (of course it has to be in the middle of a cooling cycle or the fans still won't run).
