I'm afraid it is dmd module that is bad and need to be replaced, it would cost approx $800 plus labor so buying a new lcd tv would be good decision.
Thanks.

TV has a great picture but wont "hold it". Keeps going to a single flat horizontal line across the middle of the screen. Tapping on side of TV used to bring it back but now, nothing. Just a line.

Vertical scan output section circuit fault. Absence of vertical scan causes the single horizontal line on screen. Horizontal scan output section is OK. Contact any service technician to troubleshoot the vertical scan output section circuit. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. HL-6187W, picture has vertical lines

If you can post a picture of what the lines are I can assist with the possible causes. I would assume digital board or DMD/ light engine
But a pic would help make it easier to figure out whats going on with the set.Respond to this same post for assistance.

hi there, seems you have a defective Vertical IC. If you can locate this 8-10 pins mounted on heat sink and has label LA 7837 or alike. try to replace this. defective vertical IC somehow manifest as horizontal line in the middle of the screen. it has picture but cannot adjusted to occupy the whole screen. Hope this help, please rate and vote. good day

I have a Sony 26 inch Bravia LCD tv model KDL-V26XBR1.It has thin vertical black and yellow lines about an inch apart across the whole display. Not noticeable from a distance but really see them up...

Well if the panel is bad it would not clear up in any situation, so its not the panel. most likely the t-con board or just poor connections inside. Julio Millenium TV in Las Vegas.

Good sound no picture just line thru middle of screen

If the line is going across the screen from side to side that means you have lost vertical deflection, and you don't want to run the set like that because you can burn that line into the picture tube. Most likely would be the vertical output ic, probably with a 400 location number, example IC401, could also be a capacitor in the vertical circuit most are close to that IC.

Insignia(samsung) 50" plasma Vertical red lines

I would take it back. I know from purchasing an Insignia LCD from them a while back, the TV just died after about 4 or 5 months. They ended up offering me another TV or with store credit. I took the store credit and chose another TV. I also did not have a warranty. I was told since it was Insignia (which is a Best Buy house brand) that replacing it was not a problem. Good luck.

Projector vertical running lines

Hi there

This is definatelly a interference from a power cable. If any of your signal cables in the ceiling is closer that 5cm to one of those , you will get interference.

The Company that did the installation should know this and I would suggest you call them and tell them that they should sort it out. They should either move the cables or insulate them by means of conduit.
