Question about Sears Garden
I'm guessing you're using a priming bulb to get it started. When you do, you're forcing gas into the carburetor to get it started. Your problem is that the gas is not "flowing freely" into the carb on its own. This is the problem with almost every mower I work on. The carb needs to be removed and thoroughly cleaned top to bottom, which is better left to a professional, unless you are familiar with them. There are tiny parts and very tiny holes in there (called jets) and when gas is left sitting in them for a time, they get plugged up. Most of the time, once you get the carb cleaned up the thing will run just fine. It could probably use a complete tune-up, but since it does start, I'm betting on a dirty carburetor, as the primary issue. Good Luck.
