First thing to suspect is that the switch has gone bad. You will have to take it apart to check the switch. If the switch is good, the motor may be siezed up or have gone bad. You can try to spin the motor blades to free it up.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Electrolux EXD15DN3W dehumidifier has power to unit, but wont start operation? Display is off, on button doesnt respond, but LEDs light and beeps when bucket is removed. Any advice much appreciated.

The bucket interlock may be defective. It works correctly to signal when the bucket is removed but doesn't signal the power switch that the bucket is in place.

My whirlpool ad35gusw will not start.there is no power at all.

Hello,

if it does not power up, then it means its having a power problem. it might have worked fine in the past, but that's electronics for you. Power surge, irregular power supply, excess power supply, etc can affect the unit thereby not making it to power on.

This unit must have a power supply board in it where power enters from the mains. A capacitor, fuse, diode, etc may have been defective on the power board and maybe that's why its not making the unit turn on. There might also be some disconnection or something, inside the unit which is not making it to power on.

To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.

Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.

I wish you the best of luck.

Won't power on

Several things could cause the dehumidifier to not turn on. It could be the switch itself, or the power cord, or some internal component. If you have a multimeter, you can take the unit apart and test the switch and the power cord.

Also make sure the outlet is getting power and no circuit breaker has been tripped.

Console does not light up after plugging unit in

Check the power cord for rips of loosness where it enters the unit. if the power cored is fine, this will usually be the result of a power supply board failure. you should replace the power board in this case. the original board is unable to process the AC current at this time.

No power

Factory Default Setting:
When the unit is first connected to a power supply, the
electronic circuit board will automatically default to the
following factory settings;
Mode: Dehumidifier
Humidity Set Air Value:60% RH
Fan Speed: = Low
NOTE: In the event of a power failure or the unit is
switched ‘Off’, the most recent settings are retained and
restored once the power is switched “On”/resumed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Depending on the ambient humidity
conditions, when power is restored or switched ‘On’ the
dehumidifier may not start automatically under the factory
or custom (see page 7) default setting. This is an indication
that the ambient RH% level of the surrounding environment
is lower than the current default setting and it
may be necessary to select a lower set RH% value.

Will not power on after the electricity came back on in the house!

That capacitor is a run cap for the compressor. Your problem sounds like a faulty connection in the circuit which supplies power to the solid state electronics. The electronics will have a 115 VAC supply from the rest of the machine's circuitry, most likely running to a small transformer. Check for 115VAC when you attempt to start the machine. Trace the circuit until you find the point where the power disappears when the start is pushed. If this does not reveal the problem, replace the board that has the transformer on it. There is a faulty connection somewhere which is opening when power is drawn. It is also possible that the compressor is locked & drawing enough power to disable the rest of the machine. Try it with the compressor disconnected, before replacing anything.
