I recently received and old Systemax Tiger computer. It has Windows XP on it and has 256 MB of DDR SDRAM on it. Now, i also have an old Dell computer that has 512 MB of SDRAM in it. Will my Systemax computer work if i put both kinds of RAM in it?

No, you will have to use DDR memory only. Fortuately, DDR id VERY inexpensive now.
I can recommend www.TigerDirect.com

They are a very low priced but reputable company. This is a current item, with price.

I have a Gateway 838GM. It has 4 slots for RAM. It came with 1/2 gig RAM (2 sticks, 256 Megs each). I tried installing new RAM- 2 sticks, 1 gig each. If I replace the original 2 sticks, the computer...

Here are the specifications of the Gateway 838GM: You will have to replace the existing memory with thesesettings only: The machine comes with: 512 MB = 256 MB (removable) + 256 MB PC3200DDR SDRAM DIMMs. Supports Dual Channel DDR Nowyou can only upgrade to 4.0 Gig total. Physical Memory is limited to 256 MB" in dell 2600 poweredge

In the bios there is an option to install OS, make sure this is flaged as off, when you reboot you will have access to the full amount of onboard ram.

My Dell C600 won't recognize the 2 new 256 mb sticks of RAM

i think you need a same brand of 256 for it to work? and when you buy something for your computer make sure that the one you both is the same brand or code with your 128 for example you have 128 ddr2 sdram so you can only upgrade it with 256 ddr sdran or 512mb,1gb,2gb ddr sdram.

Which memory ram for amilo pro v7010

http://www.fujitsu-siemens.ru/Resources/123/2080773523.pdf

Here's a link to the Data Sheet with the specifications to that Laptop in Adobe Reader format.

Looks like your Laptop came with either 256 or 512 MB of DDR SDRAM and it is upgradable to 2 GB of DDR SDRAM.

You can check to see exactly how much RAM your computer came with by going to Control Panel, double-click System and it should tell you how much RAM you currently have in the System Properties box.

The motherboard has 2 slots for RAM, you you could add a second 256 MB or a second 512 MB stick of RAM. Or if you wanted to upgrade to the 2GB of maximum RAM this computer handles, then you can take out the RAM chip(s) that is installed and install two 1G DDR SDRAM.

RAM cuantity

The motherboard you mentioned supports DDR1 RAM.

For windows xp and general application 512 MB is enough.
But if you use memory intensive applications like image/video editing then you can opt for 1-2 GB RAM.
