Try restarting the print spooler.
Click the "Start" button, then click "Control Panel", then click "Administrative tools", Services, scroll down to print spooler, right click and select "Restart."

How to stop printing

While your question is not quite clear, I will provide a couple of suggestions. Usually when you press the cancel button, it pauses the printer and then you must use the arrow keys to select cancel job and then press the checkmark. Also check any computers to make sure that they do not have a job in their print queue. If the printer does not send back a job complete command, sometimes the computer will keep resending the job. Failing all else, restart your computer and your printer. Are the pages that are printing gibberish or is it the correct print job? If gibberish, you might have a corrupted print driver or the file you are printing might be corrupted.

How can I stop the printer,it keeps on printing

This is very little info to go on, but this is probably caused by a corrupted print job in your print queue. Power down and disconnect the printer. Go to the printer folder and double click on the printer icon. If you see a print job listed i the queue, make sure the title bar of the dialog box says "offline". If not, go to file, select use printer offline, and then right click on the print job and selet delete. If the job does not go away after a few tries, reboot the computer with the printer disconnected and try again after reboot if the job is still listed. Another way would be to try pressing the cancel button on the printer if you already haven't. More information would make it easier to give you more accurate info..

The printer turns itself on autamaticcally and wont stop printing

You need to cancel all pending print jobs on the queue. If you see the printer's icon on your System Tray, lower right corner of your computer, right click it and choose Cancel Print Jobs. Or you can double click it so that it will show you the current printing job or those in queue. Select and delete them. If this does not cancel the pending print jobs, disconnect your printers power cord and shutdown the computer. After like 10 minutes, turn the printer and computer back again.

Printer stopped working after I cancelled a print job

Turn off your printer and completely unplug the USB cable (from both the printer and the computer). Next check if the stopped document or the later documents are in the print spooler queue. If you can cancel all documents from the queue, do so. Otherwise: from Start Run (or the command prompt)
type: net stop spooler [enter]
then type: net start spooler [enter]

This works in XP and older MS Operating Systems but I've never tried it in Vista.

If you only enter the first command, you need to reboot the computer and then take a long coffee break after logging in before trying to print again.

How to interrupt a printing job and cancel it

Hi, I hope I can help.

Your printer has some of the pages stored in memory, and your computer also has some of the pages stored in the memory (spooler) on your computer.

If you turn off the printer, the computer thinks the printer went off-line and it waits for it to come back on, and then just keep churning off pages. OR.... Something will get messed up and 100's of garbage pages will start churning out.

The deal is to clean out the memory on the printer, AND clean out the spooler on the computer.

Simplest way (hopefully) is to turn off both units. That may solve it. However, sometimes the spooler on the computer will keep trying to print. Down in the lower right hand corner of your screen should be a picture of a printer. Double click that and you'll see the print job. You should be able to select the print job, hit delete, and clear it from the spooler.

Hope this works.
