Hello, yes the air conditioner can be recharged however you will need to add a piercing valve to the low side of the system in order to add refrigerant. Here is a link to a store thta carries piercing valvs http://www.apwagner.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5_227

Hi i have Fujitronic FA-1300 Dual Hose 13000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner the air comes out it not cold does it need gas?

Before assuming it needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas, check the following. As all of these things can affect the cooling,

1. Remove and clean the air intake filter.

2. Check exhaust hoses for obstructions.

3, Exhaust hoses may have to much downward droop. Which doesn't allow the air to exhaust as it
should.

4. check for holes or leaks in the exhaust hoses. Repair or replace the hoses as needed.

5. Check the temperature setting on the controls, as it may be set to high.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may need to be recharged with refrigerant gas. hich is best left to the pros.

I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

My Fedders AC in my 2003 Roadtrek runs but doesn't blow cold air. Can't find valve in order to recharge it. Can you tell me where it is?

Window Air Conditioner are sealed at the factory,
no service valves & you can not buy R22 without
a licence

If you had to add refrigerant, common sense would
say you have a leak

Seldom repair that type of unit

It can be repaired sometimes, but usually they are
20 years old & you get a new one

My air conditioner is 8 years old and no longer cooling the air that well. I always clean the filter. Is there a way to recharge or add freon to the unit?

Yes, it can be recharged. But, due to equipment that is required to do this, it's best left to the pros. Especially, since there are EPA requirements that have to be met, when evacuating the system, prior to recharging it.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Unit ices up and quits cooling

There are a couple of things that contribute to the problem you're experiencing:

1. A dirty or clogged air intake filter. Turn unit OFF, remove and clean the filter. If filter is washable
be sure filter is thoroughly dry, before reinstaling it.

2. Cooling fins are dirty. Turn unit OFF, remove the outer shell of the AC unit, if necessary and
clean the fins with an old toothbrush and a vacuum cleaner.

3. Humidity level in your area is extremely high. This is Mother Nature's problem and is not readily
solvable.

4. Defrost sensor is not functioning properly. Replace sensor.

5.. Low refrigerant gas in the AC's compressor. Have compressor recharged.

Hope this helps you trouble shoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Does not cool room.

Goldstar WG5000 air conditioners use an R22 refrigerant. A charge kit containing the gauges needed to properly fill the unit, and the refrigerant tank/cartridge can be purchased to fill the air conditioner.

Danby DAC5020 Air Conditioner fan works but not compressor

It could be as simple as being low on refrigerant. Depends on how expensive the unit is if its worth recharging and how big the unit is. Some small units will need to have a recharge point fitted which cost more of course.

It depends how old it is most can be regased but about 15 or so years ago they changed refrigerant gases because the old one was killing the ozone if not that old you should have no problems with regasing it just make sure they check for gas leaks first which is a small amount of dye put in the gas so you can see the leak. Hope this helps
