I'm sorry that the Camera is displaying the error message. "TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN" displays on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset. Please follow the below steps to perform a power reset.

  • Turn off the camera.
  • Remove the battery pack.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery pack.
  • Turn on the camera.

Also try initializing the Camera if you're able to access the Menu items on the Camera. The Initialize option will be available under Setup or Main settings Sub Menus.

If the issue persists again, service is required. Please click hear to locate the service center near your area.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if your require any clarifications.

This type of problem can be caused by either a lens issue, or power problem. The following web blogs delineates things you can try to get the camera working again. They say about 50% of the time they can be fixed trying their suggestions:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html
If none of those things helps, try these steps:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/11/simple-fix-for-dead-cameras-that-wont.html
If the camera still doesn't work, you can take it in to a local repair shop, but get an estimate first. Repair can be high, and justify just going ahead and buying a new one.
Good luck, and hope this helps.
