Question about Mitel 5212 IP Phone

1 Answer

Our 5212 IPs for some reason only auto forward some of the calls that come in after we put it in auto forward mode to our call center at night, but not always and only sometimes all of them. There doesn't seem to be a discernible pattern to it. We have had three different managers verify that the phones are being properly set to auto forward. We have two different phones on the system the "5224 IP Phone, Dual Mode REV D.5" and "5312 IP Phone" But this problem started occuring months after we had the other phones brought into the system and everything was working fine until a couple weeks ago.

When I put my t7316E on "night" it only rings half ring then sends call to answer machine, Any way to change to a few rings so I can answer it if needed

That is generally how Night mode works - alerting you to a call then directing the caller to voicmail night message. You want to change the Forward No Answer setting in that mode; if your system doesn't support that, set FNA in regular (non-Night) for the attendant phone.

How do i open my nat for my motorola sbg900

for static IPs: check your router settings. router should be in "bridged" mode so that all the devices have own static "lan" ips like 192.168.0.1 / 192.168.0.255 router will have one lan ip static and one global ip(one it gets from service provider) you must manually give one address of 192.168.0.1 / 192.168.0.255 for your xbox. then give correct subnetmask (default 255.255.255.0) and gateway routers lan ip (default 192.168.0.254) you can aslo put routehrs lan ip as default dns if needed dmz or port forwarding is a tool in your router settings you can assign outside ports to specific ip i have only done manual port forwarding, not sure how dmz works.

Can the voice mail be turned off or disabled on the MITEL 5212?

Yes it can. Your vendor should be able to remove your mailbox and stop the call forwarding.

Extension cant answer in night service

This is a programed feature for the phone system. You will need to have your vendor reprogram the system to either allow for more rings, or simply turn the night service option off when still in the office.

Can't activate voice mail on Mitel 5212 IP phone

You need to verify your Call rerouting, you will also need to clear any call forwarding that might be active. Its possible the system is not able to transfer a call to the forwarded location.

Press the blue superkey and press the button to see if it is still set up as the Call Forward Always.
Or you can change it... if there is nothing programmed on the key press the * button and change it to call foward.
Good Luck!

Mitel 5212 no dial tone and goes straight to voicemail

Not too sure about the no dial tone issue, but you can check to see if the DND is turned on...
Press the Blue Superkey and scroll thru till you see DND (Do Not Disturb) is on and shut it off.

Call divert

You can use the superkey
Phonebook - No
Advisory msgs - No
call forwarding = Yes
Allways = Review
from there you can select the extention number you want to forward the calls to. Having done that you need to turn on call forward always on. I do this by using one of the programmable keys on the Phone
