You can use regular SAE 30 weight oil from the auto parts store. If you use multi-viscosity, make sure it is synthetic, otherwise use straight SAE30 oil.

Look under the mower for a square plug or allen wrench type plug, this will be your oil drain for the motor.
Some of Briggs & Stratton motors do not have an oil drain plug...
If you do not have an oil drain plug then you will have to run the mower to get it warm, then remove the oil fill plug and tip the mower towards the oil fill plug to drain out the oil thru the fill plug hole.

SAE 30WT i.e non detergent. Change oil every 25 hours and every 4th oil change us a detergent 30 WT oil.
The manuals will never tell you that but having worked on small engines since the mid 60's that 4th oil change with a detergent oil does a bang up job of keeping the oil ring from eventually cooking onto the piston. Also washes out the crank case and makes it look like new!
