Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I have a rockola 474 jukebox. It was working ok, but now it selects a record, plays about 3 seconds and returns it. Any ideas on what the problem is?

What causes a Rockola jukebox not to index?

I might be wrong about this but check inside for a switch marked Scan/off/play inside at the front of the mech. It should be in play position. Also check any circuit breakers and reset them on the upper back of the machine (inside). They look like the clicky end of a ball point pen.
After that I am stuck.

Hi i hav a 470 rockola jukebox it dosnt seem to slect i push first butten down and2 but the 3 butten wont release to slect any ideas thanks

The problem is probably in the keyboard. Clean all the contact switches you can get to with very fine sandpaper. The reason it is stuck is it is waiting for that third selection to complete the circuit.

The third select button will not stop down

I have a model 464 and my problem was similar but mine was the second digit.
I replaced the p c board in the selection control box and my problem was gone.
I would check the selection control box.
Hope this helps

Record return arm doesn't go low enough to pick up record

Lubrication issue. Use some light oil (NOT 3 in 1 household - it has paraffin and will eventually clog up the parts) on all of the arms moving parts.
Be sure to get in between the gears and the moving cylinders that clamp the record.
This should resolve it. Rock Olas are known for this issue. The original grease dries up, and people neglect to lubricate their jukeboxes, even though, like a car, they are machines that require it from time to time.
