I have this same problem as well, While i have not found a true solution i have found a theory as to why. I have 3 hdmi devices to the 1 port. The Xbox 360 hooked up to it works fine, however the dish and the ps3 do not. When run though a switchbox however i can get the Dish to work by turning on the 360, this trigers the port on and after its on i can turn the 360 off. however this does not work for the ps3. My best guess is that the TV is not receiving enough power from the cable (or sensing) to triger it to display the signal. Its just a theroy though

be sure to try another known good source in that HDMI port. If it still won't work, you may need to replace the Main pcb. that would be the printed circuit board with your input/output ports on it.

I turned tv off with then surge protector strip now i get no power to tv no red light no turn on...just dead as a doornail

That is known to sometimes happen...and if it is any consideration it is known to happen accross the board, not just with Scott LCT37SHA :-)

Try a different outlet for a starter, then consdier using this:

My Scott TV #LCT37SHA

Leaving it on overnight is not a problem. 99% chance you have a bad power supply board, 1% it is the main board.

See the following listing for repairing the power supply:

I bought an hp laptop and a sony hdmi cabel so i could be able to use my laptop on the lcd sony bravia tv. i connect my ps3 as well on the hdmi ports. at first everything was fine. no it doesnt work. i...

if you constantly change between one type of unit to another. say between your ps3 and another type of device then you could have worn the connector on the hdmi socket. it may need to be replaced. thats the best I can do. we have a bravia but dont change connections at all because it can cause many issues over extend use especially if youre changing devices whilst the set is on, as this can interfere and damage the internal circutry which may have shorted out the hdmi circuits.
