I just got a Kenwood system, i would like to know how to hook it up, it has, Kenwood power amplifier km207, kenwood stereo control amplifier kc 207, disc player dp-m 97, cassette deck ky-77 cw, stereo...

That's a pretty standard setup. RCA cables from the KM207 to the preamp (KC207), and RCA cables from all of the other components into the KC207. Speakers connect into the KM207

Hi i have a kenwood A-97 keeps saying protect on the amp can you help

Hi,

The amp will go into protection mode when there is a short in the speaker wires or the amplifier was overloaded. verify that none of the speaker wire connections are loose at the back of the receiver or at each speaker. And verify that none of the wires are making contact with each other.

if it is, then remove the speaker wires and connect them again properly. After disconnection g the speaker wires, unplug the receiver for 10 to 15 minutes. This will make the overload protection back to normal

Try this and let me know. I hope this would solve the issue

Regards.

My 1800 watt kenwood keeps goin into protect mode as soon as i turn it on.. why?

disconnect load (speakers), check if it still goes in to protection if so then your output stage might be faulty

My amp is a kenwood kac-9152d it goes in to protection mode soon as you hook up the power

In protection mode do you mean the light comes on and it plays music and stuff? If that's the case, that's what the amp is supposed to do. Protect itself from a power surge

Amp goes dirctly into protect

ok well it could be two thing wrong your amp dont have a good ground or your amp is a smar amp and your subs must have to be hooked up so the power from the amp cn go to the subs so the amp can see that you do have subs hooked up to take it out of protect o and look at your fuses to to smal or to big will send it to protect to

Protect on a-97 amplifier (kenwood)

The 'protect' is there to protect the main circuit board.
It is normally set off by the output stage going faulty and drawing too much power. The output stage is either made up of 4 large transistors or one very large Integrated Circuit. Either or will be attached to a big bit of aluminium, might be painted black and have fins or just raw aluminium. I've never heard of any system with a protection bypass. Be a bit like having a car where you can switch the brakes off with a button!
What happens if you disconnect all the speakers and any aux outputs?
If it stays on then the problem is with what you have attached to it.

My kenwood a97 hi fi amp has gone into protect mode a resistor is broken how do i get a diagram to identify the type i need

in my a-97 amplifier was the chip stk350-030 broken. I replaced it and it works again. The stk350-030 you'll find in the middle. Open the hood and cut the bottom (sound weird but its true)

Kenwood Midi M-97/M Switch power on and after a few seconds i get a protect message appear on A-97 amplifier and it blocks use of the system. -Paul

this is prob because of a wrong connection between speakers connections + to + - to - check all speaker wires are correct with no shorting out between + & -
